Here is the weekly review of the top performing Irish players, who play currently abroad.

Donnie McGrath
Donnie McGrath
#1. This week's number one is former international guard Donnie McGrath (193-84, college: Providence, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Lithuania. McGrath could not help Zalgiris (4-6) to beat Real Madrid (9-1). He recorded 9 points. But the sixth-placed Zalgiris was edged in an overtime 105-104 at home by the leading Real Madrid in the group E of Euroleague. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be critical. This season McGrath averages: 7.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 3FGP: 66.7%. He is a naturalized American. McGrath played for the Irish senior national team five years ago. Strangely he has never played in Ireland.

Bryan Mullins
Bryan Mullins
#2. Second place goes to former international point guard Bryan Mullins (185-87, college: S.Illinois, currently plays in France). Mullins contributed to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked JL Bourg (14-12) crushing them 75-37 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. He scored 10 points, grabbed 4 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 5 balls in 32 minutes. Chalons-Reims (17-9) is placed fourth in the ProB. Mullins is currently third on the list of most steals with 2.2spg. This year his other stats are: 8.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.1apg, 2FGP: 49.5%, 3FGP: 35.4% and FT: 64.0% in the 26 games he played so far. Mullins is a naturalized American. He played for the Irish national team in 2009. Apparently Mullins has never played in Ireland.

Conor Grace
Conor Grace
#3. The Irish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Conor Grace (210-82, college: Davidson, currently plays in Sweden). He contributed to a LF Basket's victory against the league outsider Eco Orebro (5-28) 94-90 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. Grace scored 8 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists. LF Basket (17-16) is placed seventh in the Basketligan. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Grace's overall stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 7.5rpg, 3.7apg, 2FGP: 52.4%, 3FGP: 45.8%(11-24). Former DCU St.Vincents Dublin starter played for the Irish national team four years ago.

Mark Reynolds
Mark Reynolds
#4. Forward Mark Reynolds (197-84, currently plays in United Kingdom) managed to help Durham Wildcats to win against the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-26) 87-76 in the British BBL last Friday. He scored only 1 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Durham Wildcatsis placed fourth in the BBL. This season Reynolds averages just 1.2ppg. He used to play for the Irish national team back in 2007.

Sean McCarthy
Sean McCarthy
#5. Former U16 international center Sean McCarthy (208-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the NJIT (6-2) in their game against the University of Texas-Pan American (5-3) in the NCAA. McCarthy cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 1 points in 4 minutes on the court. The NJIT was badly defeated 76-59 on the road by the University of Texas-Pan American. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. This year McCarthy averages just 1.2ppg in the 25 games. He used to play for the Irish U16 national team four years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Irish passport but never been selected to any of Irish national teams:

#1. Levon Kendall (209-F-84, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Spain) led Blusens Monbus to a victory over the 14th-ranked Cajasol (9-15) 71-63 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Kendall had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. Blusens Monbus Obradoiro CAB (12-12) is placed tenth in the ACB. Kendall has relatively good stats this year: 13.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg in the 24 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Irish.

#2. Will Hanley (200-G/F-90, agency: Duran International, college: Bowdoin, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 15th-ranked La Palma (5-15) crushing them 89-59 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday. He had a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds in 27 minutes. Oviedo Club Baloncesto (14-4) is placed first in the LEB Silver. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Hanley's first season with the team. Hanley is currently first on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Hanley averages: 17.4ppg, 11.7rpg and 1.4spg in the 18 games. He is a naturalized American. Interesting that Hanley has never played in Ireland.

#3. Experienced Tony McCrory (199-G/F-77, college: Simon Fraser, currently plays in Switzerland) was the major contributor in Starwings' victory against the closely-ranked BBC Nyon (4-18) 90-79 in the Swiss LNA on Sunday night. He scored 19 points and added 4 assists. Starwings Basket Regio Basel (8-15) is placed seventh in the LNA. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's McCrory's fifth season with the team. McCrory has relatively good stats this year: 11.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.6apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Irish.

#4. Brian McCotter (186-G-84, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British EBL D1 (second division) could not help Northumbria (13-7) to beat Bristol Acadamy Flyers (12-8). McCotter recorded 6 points in only 9 minutes. Northumbria lost 58-66 on the road to the lower-ranked (#5) Bristol Acadamy Flyers. This year McCotter averages only 3.0ppg in the two games.
