Maccabi Ashdod - Elitzur Holon 95-74 (3-0)

The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 25-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-74. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Holon's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. The game without a history. Elitzur Ramla led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami, FL) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Michal Epstein (180-81, college: Boston U.) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jessica Breland (190-88, college: N.Carolina) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Brasheeda Elohim (183-80, college: Fayetteville St.) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ramat Hasharon.

Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American guard Curtyce Knox (170-94). Knox just graduated from Texas A&M University (NCAA). She has played there for the last five years. In 34 games she recorded 10.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 8.7apg and 2.1spg last season. Knox helped them to make it to the semifinals. Elitzur Ramla (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA). She playe this summer at Ipswich Force in Australian QBL. In 14 games she recorded very impressive stats: 21.8ppg, 14.1rpg, 4.6apg and 1.7spg. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (D1) agreed terms with 27-year old Nigerian international power forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) from Elitzur Holon.
