It looked good early as Hapoel Jerusalem took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi T-A had a 18-13 second period charge getting the lead and Hapoel Jerusalem was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-91. Maccabi T-A dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Jerusalem's 42. Maccabi T-A forced 20 Hapoel Jerusalem turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international Lior Eliyahu (206-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Josh Duncan (203-86) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 12 points in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
