Rakim
Sanders
23-year old guard Rakim Sanders (193-G-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Galil Gilboa and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had the game-high 31 points adding three rebounds for Galil Gilboa in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Bnei Hasharon (8-12) 93-92. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Galil Gilboa is placed at 10th position in Israeli league. Galil Gilboa is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-12 record. In the team's last game Sanders had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Galil Gilboa's top player in his first season with the team. Rakim Sanders averages this season 13.4ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Jumaine Jones (203-F-79) of Bnei Hasharon. He is American forward in his first season at Bnei Hasharon. In the last game Jones recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Bnei Hasharon was edged by Galil Gilboa (8-12) 93-92. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Bnei Hasharon dropped in the standings to 9th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-12 record. Jones is a newcomer at Bnei Hasharon and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Diamon Simpson (201-F-87) of Maccabi Ashdod (#7). Simpson scored 22 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Maccabi Ashdod, leading his team to a 98-87 win against the higher-ranked Hapoel Eilat (#3, 12-8). The chances of Maccabi Ashdod ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Simpson could help Maccabi Ashdod to bring them higher in the standings. Simpson has a great season in Israel. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.2ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.8rpg (9th best). He also has 1.2bpg and FGP: 57.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Pat Calathes (208-G/F-85) of Maccabi Haifa - 26 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Brian Randle (203-F-85) of Hapoel T-A - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Josh Duncan (203-PF-86) of Hapoel J-M - 24 points and 8 rebounds
7. Adrian Uter (200-F/C-84) of Maccabi Rishon - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Jerome Tillman (198-F-87) of Hapoel Eilat - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Mardy Collins (198-G-84) of Maccabi Ashdod - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Frank Hassell (203-F-88) of Hapoel Holon - 19 points and 13 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
