Maccabi T-A - Hapoel T-A 76-68

The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Hapoel Tel-Aviv won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. point guard Ricky Hickman (189-85, college: NC-Greensboro) stepped up and scored 23 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford) scored 20 points.

Maccabi Haifa made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Galil Gilboa outrebounded Maccabi Haifa 37-24 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) fired 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American-Greek swingman Pat Calathes (208-85, college: St.Joseph's) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: KMG Sports Management) produced 24 points and the other American import guard Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side.

Hapoel Eilat - Maccabi Rishon 77-79

The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Eilat won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Larry O'Bannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Eilat.
