An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Haifa. Second ranked Maccabi Haifa faced 4th ranked Maccabi Rishon. Host Maccabi Haifa (15-7) defeated guests from Rishon Le-Zion (11-11) 98-90. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi Rishon won third quarter 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Haifa shot 28 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Maccabi Rishon only scored ten points from the stripe. 32 personal fouls committed by Maccabi Rishon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) fired 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Maccabi Haifa's coach Brad Greenberg used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for lost side. Maccabi Haifa have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-7 record having four points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Maccabi Rishon at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Hapoel J-M and Netanya.

Bnei Hasharon lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Holon, where higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (11-11) lost to eleventh ranked Hapoel Holon (9-13) in a road game 58-67 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of GreenTops Netanya. The game was dominated by American players. Frank Hassell had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Ramel Bradley responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Hapoel Holon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Loser GreenTops Netanya keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M and Maccabi Rishon.

Rest of the games of round 22 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
bottom-ranked Elizur Ashkelon was defeated by Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina 87-74. Hapoel Eilat beat Hapoel J-M at home 84-79. Maccabi Ashdod lost to Hapoel T-A on the opponent's court 88-92.
The best stats of 22th round was 30 points and 5 steals by Jerome Dyson of Hapoel Holon.

Bnei Hasharon - Maccabi T-A 73-91

Leader Maccabi T-A delivered the nineteenth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Bnei Hasharon (8-14) 91-73 in Hod Hasharon. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maccabi T-A forced 24 Bnei Hasharon turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi T-A especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Bnei Hasharon's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international Lior Eliyahu (206-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. There was no surprise in Rosh Pina where 12th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-17) was defeated by eighth ranked Galil Gilboa (10-12) 87-74 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-74. American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 15 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Galil Gilboa's coach Lior Lubin let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St.) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Dudu Shamriz (191-91) scored 18 points. We should mention about the upset which took place in Holon, where higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (11-11) lost to eleventh ranked Hapoel Holon (9-13) in a road game 58-67 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of GreenTops Netanya. Hapoel Holon made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Frank Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) chipped in 30 points and 5 steals during the contest. At the losing side guard Ramel Bradley (188-85) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Hapoel Holon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Loser GreenTops Netanya keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M and Maccabi Rishon.
