The most exciting game of round 2 in the Winner League took place in Ashdod. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Maccabi Ashdod (10-14) to first ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (12-12) 77-75 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 29-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. International point guard Bar Timor (190-92, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 21 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted Hapoel Tel-Aviv maintains first position in League with 12-12 record. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 14 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv are looking forward to face league's second-placed Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Ironi Ashkelon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-19) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Hapoel Holon (10-14) 83-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-19. But Ironi Ashkelon won second period 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Head coach Rami Hadar left Hapoel Tel-Aviv (Winner League). He helped them to make it to the cup final. Hadar also coached for Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv earlier that season. He coached in the final of Israeli National League in 2014. Hadar has coached previously three other teams: Maccabi Haifa, Benyamina and Hapoel Afula.
