The Regular Season in A1 just ended.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lucca. Second ranked Lucca faced 4th ranked Taranto. Host Lucca (15-3) defeated guests from Taranto (12-6) 66-60. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-60. Lucca made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Taranto turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Taranto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (189-86, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Taranto's coach Roberto Ricchini rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lucca have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-3 record having just two points less than leader Familia Schio. Defending champion Taranto keeps the fourth place with six games lost.
Leader Familia Schio delivered the seventeenth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Pall.Pozzuoli (4-14) 87-81. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jantel Lavender (190-88, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jenifer Nadalin contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Familia Schio's coach Maurizio Lasi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (190-91, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds for Pall.Pozzuoli. Familia Schio (17-1) have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Pall.Pozzuoli lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Orvieto.
A very close game took place in Chieti between Orvieto and C.U.S. Chieti. Tenth ranked Orvieto (4-14) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked C.U.S. Chieti (5-13). Orvieto managed to escape with a 2-point win 61-59 on Thursday evening. Valentina Baldelli scored 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Jefimija Karakasevic responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Orvieto moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Pozzuoli. C.U.S. Chieti at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Parma. Local Parma (13-5) outscored 6th ranked Priolo (7-11) 71-52. Sonja Kireta notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort. Parma's coach Mauro Procaccini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Parma maintains third position with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Familia Schio. Priolo at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost.

In the last game of round 22 Umbertide defeated Cagliari CUS in a road game 63-58.

Cagliari CUS - Umbertide 58-63

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Cagliari CUS (3-15) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Umbertide (10-8) 63-58. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cagliari CUS won third quarter 17-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Umbertide dominated on the defensive end, holding Cagliari CUS to just 6 points in second quarter. American D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Regeneracom Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Sabrina Cinili (190-89) supported her with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Even 20 points by Slovakian forward Barbora Fabianova (182-82, college: Youngstown St., agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Cagliari CUS. Swedish guard Elin Eldebrink (174-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Umbertide maintains fifth position with 10-8 record. Cagliari CUS lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost.
