BC Khimki MR - Montepaschi Siena 78:71

BC Khimki reach the necessary win over Montepaschi Siena in the first game on Friday evening. The Russian side posted a 78:71 victory for 6-4 record. The Italian side dropped at 5-5 record in Group F.
In the first game between two teams on January Bobby Brown scored 20 and Tomas Ress dominated in the paint when Siena bested Khimki 82:76 in Italy. This time Khimky secured a 7-point win as they started with 25-20 lead in the first period. The Russian team added 19-17 in the second frame and enjoyed a 7-point lead at the halftime. Moreover they won the third quarter 20-17 and later led 18 points. The Italian squad however dominated the end of the game and reduced to final 7 points.
K.C. Rivers (196-G-87, college: Clemson) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Paul Davis (211-C-84, college: Michigan St.) added 18. Kresimir Loncar (210-F-83, agency: Alti Sport) and Vitaliy Fridzon (195-G-85, agency: Alti Sport) followed them with 8 points apiece. Bobby Brown (188-PG-84, college: CS Fullerton) ended up with 17 points in the losing effort and Kristjan Kangur (201-SF-82) notched 12. Benjamin Ortner (206-F/C-83, college: Metro St.) brought 11, whilst Matt Janning (193-G-88, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Northeastern) had 8.
