Dwight Hardy
The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, few extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Tuscany Pistoia (17-7) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Sigma Barcellona (18-7) in overtime 103-97. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 17-7 record before this meeting. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 29-27 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 6-point victory in overtime. Strangely Tuscany Pistoia outrebounded Sigma Barcellona 52-33 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Tuscany Pistoia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) scored 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American forward Craig Callahan (203-81, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Sigma Barcellona have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Tuscany Pistoia at the other side dropped to the second place with seven games lost. Sigma Barcellona are looking forward to face Biancoblu BO (#6) in Bologna in the next round where they are favorite. Tuscany Pistoia will play at home against Fileni BPA Jesi (#10) and is hoping to win this game.

In the last two games of round 26 AcegasAps TR lost to Prima Veroli on the opponent's court 59-67. Novipiu Casale managed to outperform Pall.Trento in a home game 74-67. FCM Ferentino managed to beat Upea CdO on the road 95-87. Givova Scafati was defeated by Tezenis VE on its own court 89-93. C.de Latte BRE was beaten by Biancoblu BO in Bologna 85-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists by Richard McConnell of Tezenis VE.

Prima Veroli - AcegasAps TR 67-59

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked AcegasAps TR (9-15) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Prima Veroli (9-16) 67-59 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-59. Prima Veroli outrebounded AcegasAps TR 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass.
