Keddric Mays
The Regular Season in Lega 2 just ended. Very exciting round. It does not happen too often that three games need overtime in just one round. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The biggest surprise took place in Scafati where host Givova Scafati (14-14) beat league's leader Sigma Barcellona (19-9) 100-92 in overtime on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime then Sigma Barcellona managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Givova Scafati who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-3. They made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who scored 29 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The other American import forward Ronald Slay (203-81, college: Tennessee, agency: David Lee services) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American forward Craig Callahan (203-81, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds. Givova Scafati moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Biancoblu BO and Pall.Trento. Sigma Barcellona at the other side dropped to the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Giorgo Tesi PT. They were replaced at the leadership position by Upea CdO.
The game had a very big importance for twelfth-ranked Upea CdO as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Upea CdO edged 15th ranked Aget Service IM in Capo d'Orlando 78-75. It was a good game for power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Alex Young contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Matteo Frassineti (195-87) replied with 25 points for Aget Service IM. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with FCM Ferentino. Aget Service IM lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 20 games lost.

In the last two games of round 30 Tezenis VE was defeated by LeGamberi FO in Forli 76-68. Prima Veroli beat Giorgo Tesi PT at home 79-77. FCM Ferentino won against Biancoblu BO on the opponent's court 65-64. Fileni BPA Jesi managed to outperform AcegasAps TR in a home game 84-73. Pall.Trento recorded a loss to C.de Latte BRE on the road 90-79.
The best stats of 30th round was 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Eric Griffin of Fileni BPA Jesi.

LeGamberi FO - Tezenis VE 76-68

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked LeGamberi Foods Forli and 6th ranked Tezenis VE had identical 15-12 record. This time LeGamberi Foods Forli used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Verona 76-68 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tezenis VE won third quarter 23-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian guard Bernardo Musso (193-86) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Amedeo Tessitori (207-94) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four LeGamberi Foods Forli players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Charlie Westbrook (193-89, college: S.Dakota) who recorded 18 points and Nigerian-American power forward Olaseni Lawal (208-86, college: Wayne St., MI, agency: IBS) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Tezenis VE's coach Alessandro Ramagli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory LeGamberi Foods Forli went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Tezenis VE dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost.
