The Regular Season in Nazionale A just ended. The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 38 in the Nazionale A took place in Casalpusterlengo. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Castelletto (19-15) to fifth ranked Casalpusterlengo (20-14) 82-81 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Castelletto. Castelletto cut a 13-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Guard Tommaso Marino (190-86, agency: Interperformances) saved the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 assists. point guard Roberto Prandin (188-86, agency: Two Points) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alex Ranuzzi (195-86, agency: Interperformances) replied with 21 points for Castelletto. Casalpusterlengo moved-up to third place, which they share with Agrigento. Castelletto at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Lucca and Omegna.
Nazionale A top team - Torino (26-8) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Recanati (16-18) 93-64. Naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Marco Evangelisti chipped in 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88) responded with 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torino have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-8 record. Recanati at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Bari and Ferrara.
A very close game took place in San Severo between Mazzeo San Severo and Treviglio. Seventeenth ranked Mazzeo San Severo (11-23) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Treviglio (18-16). Mazzeo San Severo managed to escape with a 1-point win 85-84 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Ludovico De Paoli notched 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 9 points and 9 rebounds by Riccardo Perego did not help to save the game for Treviglio. Mazzeo San Severo maintains seventeenth position with 11-23 record. Loser Treviglio dropped to the eighth place with 16 games lost.
Eighteenth-ranked Perugia (8-26) used its home court advantage to challenge eighth ranked Lucca (19-15). The visitors from Lucca managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Andrea Barsanti who scored 29 points and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Lucca moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Castelletto and Omegna. Perugia lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 26 games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Reggio Calabria. Thirteenth ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (16-18) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Reggio Calabr. (17-17) 78-77 on Sunday evening. Simone Cortesi saved the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Naturhouse Ferrara have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bari and Recanati. Loser Reggio Calabr. dropped to the ninth position with 17 games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 38: Firenze was beaten by Agrigento on the road 69-62. Omegna lost to Chieti on its own court 65-69. Latina Basket unfortunately lost to Bari in a road game 61-69.
The most impressive performance of 38th round was 19 points, 5 assists and 6 steals by Nicola Mei of Perugia.

Agrigento - Firenze 69-62

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Agrigento (20-14) beat at home 9th ranked Firenze (17-17) 69-62 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Firenze won second period 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (196-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Fabio Mian (196-92) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and center Andrea Capitanelli (203-86) added 5 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Firenze. Agrigento moved-up to third place, which they share with Casalpusterlengo. Loser Firenze keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost.
