The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

The most important game in the last round took place in Lucca between third ranked Castelletto (17-12) and sixth ranked Lucca (16-12) on Sunday night. Castelletto was defeated by Lucca in a tough game on the road 83-87. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Lucca forced 22 Castelletto turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Castelletto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Davide Parente (188-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Walter Santarossa (200-78) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for Castelletto. Lucca moved-up to fifth place. Castelletto at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Lucca are looking forward to face Omegna (#8) on the road in the next round. Castelletto will play against Agrigento (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Reggio Calabria was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Casalpusterlengo (16-13) played at the court of 8th ranked Reggio Calabr. (14-15). Casalpusterlengo managed to secure a 4-point victory 91-87. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Gianpaolo Ricci (200-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Tommaso Marino who added 23 points during the contest. point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals. Reggio Calabr.'s coach Francesco Ponticiello rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Casalpusterlengo went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Treviglio. Reggio Calabr. at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Firenze. Casalpusterlengo will play against Bari (#9) at home in the next round. Reggio Calabr. will play against Recanati and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Naturhouse Ferrara (13-16) and Latina Basket (11-18), which took place in Latina. Higher ranked Naturhouse Ferrara lost to sixteenth ranked Latina Basket in a road game 84-96 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Naturhouse Ferrara. The winners were led by Manuel Carrizo who scored that evening 34 points (!!!) and 9 assists. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by Michele Benfatto did not help to save the game for Naturhouse Ferrara. Latina Basket maintains sixteenth position with 11-18 record. Newly promoted Naturhouse Ferrara dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Chieti. Latina Basket will meet at home higher ranked Chieti (#13) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Naturhouse Ferrara will play against the league's second-placed Matera and will have a slim chance for a victory.
The game between fifteenth ranked Chieti (13-16) and 17th ranked Mazzeo San Severo (10-20) in Chieti ended with biggest points difference. Chieti outscored guests from San Severo 92-69. The best player for the winners was Emanuele Rossi who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Chieti moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Ferrara. Mazzeo San Severo at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 20 games lost. Chieti's next round opponent will be Latina Basket (#16) on the road. Mazzeo San Severo will play against Mirandola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 32: Recanati was beaten by Agrigento on the road 65-56. Mirandola lost to Omegna on its own court 58-75. Firenze managed to outperform Perugia in a road game 69-62. Treviglio managed to beat Bari at home 78-66.

Agrigento - Recanati 65-56

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Agrigento (17-13) beat at home 13th ranked Recanati (12-17) 65-56. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Alfredo Moruzzi (193-80) who scored 13 points. Naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (196-85) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Agrigento maintains fourth position with 17-13 record. Recanati at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with 17 games lost. Agrigento's next round opponent will be higher ranked Castelletto (#3) on the road and it may be the game of the week. Recanati will play against Reggio Calabr. (#11) in Reggio Calabria.
