There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Nazionale A.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Torino. First ranked host Torino (24-8) smashed second-best Matera (21-12) 78-56. The game was mostly controlled by Torino. Matera managed to win third quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Marco Evangelisti (198-84) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and point guard Lorenzo Gergati (188-84) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Matera's coach Giovanni Benedetto gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Torino maintains first position with 24-8 record. Matera at the other side keeps the second place with 12 games lost. Torino are looking forward to face Latina Basket (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Matera will play against Mazzeo San Severo (#17) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Mirandola. Fourth ranked Castelletto (19-14) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 12th ranked Mirandola (15-19) 87-86 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mirandola. The winners were led by forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds and Alexander Simoncelli supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 28 points and 6 assists by point guard Jordan Losi (182-80) did not help to save the game for Mirandola. Castelletto moved-up to third place, which they share with Omegna. Newly promoted Mirandola dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Castelletto will play against Bari (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mirandola will play against Recanati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game took place in Casalpusterlengo where higher ranked Casalpusterlengo (18-15) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Chieti (14-19) 69-60 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Emanuele Rossi who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Gianpaolo Ricci who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Chieti maintains fifteenth position with 14-19 record. Loser Casalpusterlengo dropped to the sixth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Firenze. Chieti will meet at home bottom-ranked Bologna (#19) in the next round. Casalpusterlengo will play against Firenze (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game took place in Reggio Calabria where 7th ranked Treviglio (17-15) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Reggio Calabr. (17-16) 71-53. It was a good game for Alessandro Piazza who led his team to a victory with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Reggio Calabr. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 17-16 record. Treviglio at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 15 games lost. Reggio Calabr.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Lucca (#9) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 36: Lucca lost to Agrigento on the opponent's court 66-71. Bari unfortunately lost to Firenze in a home game 63-73. Latina Basket managed to beat Perugia on the road 66-55. Omegna defeated Recanati on its own court 68-64.

Agrigento - Lucca 71-66

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Lucca (17-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Agrigento (19-15) 71-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lucca won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Agrigento won last quarter 14-10. It was a good game for the former international center Roberto Chiacig (210-74) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (196-85) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. point guard Davide Parente (188-83) replied with 22 points and Riccardo Casagrande (196-88, agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Lucca. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to fifth place. Lucca at the other
