The Regular Season in SerieA just ended.

Top ranked Cimberio Varese (23-7) recorded its seventh loss on the court of eighth ranked Umana Venezia on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Umana Venezia 76-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cimberio Varese. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 19-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American-Bulgarian point guard Kee Kee Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. Polish center Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) chipped in 9 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American swingman Ebi Ere (195-81, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Umana Venezia maintains eighth position with 16-14 record. Cimberio Varese at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost.
The game in Siena was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Banco di Sard. (22-8) played at the court of 5th ranked Montepaschi Siena (18-12). Banco di Sard. managed to secure a 6-point victory 92-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Montepaschi Siena. It was a good game for American point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Marvis Thornton contributed with 18 points for the winners. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) replied with 23 points and 5 assists for Montepaschi Siena. Montepaschi Siena's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Banco di Sard. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-8 record behind leader Cimberio VA. Defending champion Montepaschi Siena keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Trenkwalder RE.

Trenkwalder RE's coach Massimiliano Menetti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Stevan Jelovac with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds. Trenkwalder RE moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Montepaschi. Juvecaserta lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Sidigas AV and Vanoli CR.

Vanoli Cremona moved-up to ninth place, which they share with JuveCaserta and Sidigas AV. Angelico Biella lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games.

Rest of the games of round 30 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Sutor MGR was defeated by Acea Virtus RM in Roma 82-64. Oknoplast BO was beaten by Cantu at home 69-79. Sidigas AV won against Pesaro on the opponent's court 93-80. EA7 Armani managed to outperform Enel Brindisi in a home game 94-89.

JuveCaserta - Trenkwalder RE 77-80

Ninth-ranked Juvecaserta (13-17) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Trenkwalder RE (18-12) in Caserta on Sunday. The visitors from Reggio Emilia managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 17-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. International point guard Andrea Cinciarini (190-86) scored 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Donnel Taylor (198-82, college: UAB) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Trenkwalder RE's coach Massimiliano Menetti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds and the former international Marco Mordente (192-79) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Four Juvecaserta players scored in double figures. Trenkwalder RE moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Montepaschi. Juvecaserta lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Sidigas AV and Vanoli CR.

Acea Virtus RM - Sutor MGR 82-64

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Sutor Montegranaro (11-19) was defeated on the road by third ranked Lottomatica Roma (20-10) 82-64. It looked good early as Sutor Montegranaro took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lottomatica Roma had a 27-13 second period charge getting the lead and Sutor Montegranaro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-82. Lottomatica Roma forced 22 Sutor Montegranaro turnovers. Hungarian Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Luigi Datome (203-87) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) did not help to save the game for Sutor Montegranaro. Canadian-British guard Kyle Johnson (195-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: SportsTalent) added 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lottomatica Roma have a solid three-game winning streak. Very expected game when 14th ranked VL Pesaro (10-20) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Air Avellino (13-17) 93-80. The game was mostly controlled by Air Avellino. VL Pesaro was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Air Avellino dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to VL Pesaro's 28. They outrebounded VL Pesaro 35-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) supported him with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Air Avellino players scored in double figures. Air Avellino's coach Gianluca Tucci allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Very predictable result when fourth ranked Armani Milano (19-11) beat at home 12th ranked Enel Brindisi (11-19) 94-89. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Armani Milano forced 21 Enel Brindisi turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Enel Brindisi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Alessandro Gentile (198-92) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and the former international Nicolo Melli (205-91) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 8 assists by American point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for Enel Brindisi.
