Jakub
Wojciechowski
22-year old power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-F/C-90) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Torino and receives a Eurobasket.com Nazionale A Player of the Week award for round 29.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Treviglio (#6, 14-12) 88-78. It allowed Torino to consolidate first place in the Italian Nazionale A. Torino have a solid 23-4 record. Wojciechowski turned to be Torino's top player in his first season with the team. Jakub Wojciechowski averages this season 15.7ppg and 9.2rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Michele Benfatto (205-F/C-85) of Ferrara. He is a forward in his second season at Ferrara. In the last game Benfatto recorded impressive 22 points and 9 rebounds. It was enough for Ferrara to edge the higher-ranked Castelletto (#4, 15-11) by 4 points 76-72. Ferrara's 15th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-15 record. Benfatto is well-known at Ferrara and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Massimo Rezzano (203-F/C-82) of league's second-best Matera. Rezzano scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Matera, leading his team to a 88-85 win against the lower-ranked Latina Basket (#17, 9-18). Matera needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 9 lost games. Rezzano has a very solid season. In 26 games in Italy he scored 14.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Andrea Iannilli (207-C-84) of San Severo - 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Filippo Gagliardo (206-F-78) of Latina Basket - 21 points and 6 rebounds
6. Luca Bisconti (206-F/C-82) of Bari - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Giacomo Chiatti (183-PG-86) of Perugia - 23 points and 5 rebounds
8. Stefano Spizzichini (202-F-90) of Firenze - 15 points and 11 rebounds
9. Stefano Masciadri (200-F-89) of Omegna - 11 points and 13 rebounds
10. Alessandro Piazza (174-PG-87) of Reggio Calabr. - 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
