Three major decisions were taken on the Board meeting during the Final 4 of EUROHOLD Balkan League - Apr 22, 2013

During the Final 4 of EUROHOLD Balkan League in Samokov there was held a Board meeting of the federations members of the competition. On this Board meeting were taken three major decisions.

    - The league will most probably allow the teams to include 5 non-European players in the roster during a game but only 3 of them will be able to be in the court on the same time. At least one local player must be on the court also and the other player can be also local or European. With this decision the league wants to give a possibility to the teams from Israel, Romania, Greece and other countries to use their full rosters. The league also will give even more chance for young and local players to play and develop.

    - The league has requests from at least 14 teams to participate in the next season. If the 10 teams that played this season would like to be a part of the league for the next campaign, the league will give them this possibility but only if they show they have a good roster. There will also be a wild card and most probably the teams for next season will be 12. Until June 13th the structure will be approved. Other news is that Romania will be back in the league with one or two teams.

    - Sigal Prishtina will be a new member of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team from Kosovo has been accepted to the competition after approval by FIBA, FIBA Europe and all federation members. The only federation that has not given an answer so far is the one of Serbia.
During the Board meeting were also approved some technical changes in the regulation. The system of this season will be kept - if the teams remain 10 there will be two groups of 5 and then a Top 6. If the league consists of 12 teams there will be two groups of 6 and than a Top 8.

SuperLeague Round 4 of Regular Season - 15 hours ago
The most shocking disappointment of round 4 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Peja (2-2) to fifth ranked Rahoveci (3-1) 96-87. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Rahoveci outrebounded Peja 44-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Peja helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Junious Prowell (, college: S.Crescent Tech) who helped to win the game recording 31 points,...   [read more]

Shawn Jones selected the top Kosovan playing abroad in last week's games - 4 days ago
Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Kosovans who are currently playing abroad. This week's number one is an international power forward Shawn Jones (203-92). He could not help one of league's weakest teams Banco di Srd (0-2) in their last game. Despite Jones' very good performance Banco di Srd lost 76-83 at home to the higher-ranked (#29) EWE Baskets.    [read more]

Bessick's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 5 days ago
Forward Taylor Bessick (206-F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Ylli and receives a Player of the Week award for round 3. He had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Trepca (#8, 0-3) with 37-point margin 115-78. Thanks to this victory Ylli moved-up to the 4th position in Kosovan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Ylli w...   [read more]
