The Regular Season in LSBL just ended. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

Bottom-ranked Tartu U. is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 21th consecutive match to tenth ranked Rapla KK (5-16) 81-62 on Thursday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Rapla KK forced 27 Tartu U. turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Tartu U. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Estonian forward Kerli Haas (180-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Estonian forward Kaia Kosk (177-89, college: E.Kentucky) contributed with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Rapla KK's coach Tiiu Kosk used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Estonian forward Kadri Uigra (183-97) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds for Tartu U.Rapla KK moved-up to ninth place. Tartu U. at the other side still closes the standings.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 26: LU was beaten by Kolibri/U-16 on the road 49-43. TTT Riga won against Liepajas on its own court 71-55. Audentes SG/N. unfortunately lost to Eclex Tallinn in a road game 74-78.
The most impressive performance of 26th round was 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Kadri-Ann Lass of Audentes SG/N..

Kolibri/U-16 - LU 49-43

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Kolibri/U-16 (5-17) beat 9th ranked Latvijas Universitate (5-17) in Riga 49-43 on Thursday. Latvijas Universitate trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 15-6 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 43-49 at the end of the game. Kolibri/U-16 dominated on the defensive end, holding Latvijas Universitate to just 6 points in third quarter. They held Latvijas Universitate to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kolibri/U-16 made 8 blocks. Forward Digna Strautmane (188-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. Forward Paula Strautmane (184-97) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Anete Vorma (165-89) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and center Zane Neilande (184-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Latvijas Universitate. Latvijas Universitate's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kolibri/U-16 moved-up to tenth place, which they share with LU.

TTT Riga - Liepajas 71-55

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Liepajas (14-8) lost on the road to second ranked TTT Riga (19-3) 71-55 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by TTT Riga. Liepajas managed to win fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Liepajas outrebounded TTT Riga 45-33 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. International swingman Ieva Krastina (174-90, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Dita Rozenberga (181-92) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. TTT Riga's coach Aigars Nerips used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Joncelyn Peterkin (187-89, college: Point Park) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Kristina Cirsa (177-87) added 15 points in the effort for Liepajas. TTT Riga have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 19-3 record having just three points less than leader Cesis. Loser Liepajas keep the fifth place with eight games lost.

Rather predictable result when third ranked Eclex Tallinn (17-5) won against at home 7th ranked Audentes SG/N. (9-12) 78-74 on Monday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Audentes SG/N. won fourth quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eclex Tallinn made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Estonian point guard Anastassia Ptitsona (168-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. Estonian power forward Annika Koster (185-92) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Eclex Tallinn players scored in double figures. Estonian forward Kadri-Ann Lass (175-96) replied with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Estonian center Trine Kasemagi (190-95) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Audentes SG/N.Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
