Ventspils dismantled Valmiera for 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 49-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Folarin Campbell (192-86, college: George Mason) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. The former international guard Sandis Valters (193-78) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Ventspils players scored in double figures. Forward Janis Berzins (202-93, agency: Players Group) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Pavels Veselovs (207-83, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Valmiera. Valmiera's coach Varis Krumins gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.

Barons kvartals - VEF Riga 89-108

VEF Riga gave little chance for Barons kvartals drubbing those in the series opener. It looked good early as Barons kvartals took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then VEF Riga had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Barons kvartals were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-108. VEF Riga dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Barons kvartals' 24. They outrebounded Barons kvartals 47-27 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. VEF Riga players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international Kaspars Berzins (213-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and international Dairis Bertans (192-89) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. Five VEF Riga players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tyler Cain (203-88, college: S.Dakota) responded with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Maris Gulbis (202-85, agency: Players Group) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Miasto Szkla Krosno (PLK) agreed terms with 26-year old Latvian international guard Davis Lejasmeiers (192-84kg-91). He moved there from Sodertalje Kings in Swedish Basketligan where he played this season. In 47 Basketligan games he had 10.9ppg, 2.9rpg and 4.0apg. Lejasmeiers helped them to make it to the final.
