VEF Riga - Ventspils 100:81

VEF Riga earned the third consecutive LBL title. They knocked down Ventspils in the fifth game of the title series to win it 4-1. Will Daniels (203-F-86, college: Rhode Island) scored 19 points to pace VEF Riga to the victory.
VEF Riga stormed into the game. The defending champions fired 33 points in the opening quarter to take a 10-point lead. Ventspils slowed the hosts down a bit in the second frame. But the visitors could not get any closer. VEF Riga maintained the advantage and posted a 52:42 halftime lead. VEF Riga exploded with 27 points in the third term to boost their lead. The hosts arrived at the final intermission up by 16 points 79:63. VEF Riga kept Ventspils at safe distance throughout the fourth frame and sealed the win at the end. Dairis Bertans (192-SG-89) posted 18 points, while Earl Rowland (188-G-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) and Kristaps Janicenoks (196-F-83) provided 16 points each for the winners. Folarin Campbell (192-G-86, college: George Mason) responded with 15 points for Ventspils. Arturs Berzins (204-PF-88) had 14 points in the loss.

The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 33-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Jelgava - ViA 87-77 Jelgava fired past ViA to victoriously open LBL2 Finals. The game was mostly controlled by Jelgava. ViA managed to win second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by ViA helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
