Neptunas shot down Pieno Zvaigzdes to take 1-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Pieno Zvaigzdes was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neptunas players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. The former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: Edge Sports) answered with 19 points and American forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) added 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Pieno Zvaigzdes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Lietuvos Rytas eased past Juventus to secure the winning start of their playoff campaign. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos rytas. Juventus managed to win third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietuvos rytas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Juventus' 34. Lietuvos rytas forced 22 Juventus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Renaldas Seibutis (198-85) fired 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Mindaugas Katelynas (206-83, college: Chattanooga) chipped in 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. American guard Darrick Leonard (190-84, college: Aurora) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Nerijus Varnelis (201-78) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Zalgiris - Nevezis 94-51

Zalgiris had no problems in the opener versus Nevezis. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 26. Zalgiris forced 22 Nevezis turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. The former international center Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-79) stepped up and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Zalgiris' coach Joan Plaza felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and center Gediminas Zyle (210-88) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds.

Guard Arturas Milaknis (195-86) stepped up and scored 24 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Rudupis players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) scored 21 points. Siauliai's coach Gediminas Petrauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

The Regular Season in LKL just ended. Leader Zalgiris delivered the 33th win on Wednesday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Juventus (19-17) 90-76 in Kaunas.
