There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LKL. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Zalgiris (8-1) in Klaipeda on Monday night. Visitors were edged by Neptunas (15-3) 78-77. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Zalgiris. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU) chipped in 14 points. The former international forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Neptunas have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Rudupis. Defending champion Zalgiris keeps the sixth place with one game lost. Neptunas is looking forward to face Pieno Zvaigzdes (#5) in Pasvalys in the next round. Zalgiris will play on the road against the league's leader Rudupis in Prienai and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (10-8) against eighth ranked Lietuvos rytas (8-2) on Saturday night. Host Pieno Zvaigzdes was defeated by Lietuvos rytas in Pasvalys 85-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pieno Zvaigzdes. Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Janis Blums contributed with 13 points for the winners. Lietuvos rytas' coach Dirk Bauermann allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) replied with 25 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for Pieno Zvaigzdes. Lietuvos rytas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Pieno Zvaigzdes at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Lietuvos rytas will play against higher ranked Siauliai (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pieno Zvaigzdes will play against the league's second-placed Neptunas and will have a slim chance for a victory.
Leader Rudupis delivered the fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 10th ranked LSU-Baltai (5-14) 91-73 in Prienai. Arturas Valeika scored 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners. Rudupis' coach Virginijus Seskus used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mindaugas Stasys responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Rudupis maintains first position with 15-3 record, which they share with Neptunas. LSU-Baltai lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Sakalai. Rudupis will meet at home Zalgiris (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. LSU-Baltai will have a break next round.

The best player for the winners was Aurimas Kieza who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Siauliai's coach Gediminas Petrauskas felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Siauliai have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Nevezis lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Siauliai will face Lietuvos rytas (#7) in Vilnius in the next round.

In the last game of round 26 Lietkabelis was crushed by Juventus in Utena 104-71.

Bottom-ranked Naglis Palangos (0-20) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 111-65 loss to eleventh ranked Sakalai (5-14) in Palanga. They outrebounded Naglis Palangos 53-31 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sakalai players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Forward Denisas Krestininas (202-94) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 26 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Zygimantas Sestokas (196-86, college: Hofstra, agency: Players Group) supported him with 25 points. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) did not help to save the game for Naglis Palangos. Guard Modestas Kumpys (192-91) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. There was no surprise in Utena where 9th ranked Lietkabelis (7-13) was crushed by fifth ranked Juventus (11-8) 104-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Juventus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 44. They outrebounded Lietkabelis 34-19 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Juventus looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Nerijus Varnelis (201-78) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) chipped in 18 points. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Juventus' coach Rytis Vaisvila felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Union Basket Chartres Metropole (NM1) re-signed 32-year old Lithuanian swingman Mantas Ruikis (194-97kg-85). He played there last season. In 37 NM1 games he recorded 11.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.1apg. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (LKL) to sign 24-year old American small forward Royce O'Neale (198-102kg-93, college: Baylor). He played most recently at Gran Canaria in Spanish Liga Endesa.
