Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Lithuanians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Simas Jasaitis (202-82, currently plays in Eurocup). He led his Russian team Lokomotiv to a victory over the closely-ranked Valencia Basket (4-2) 97-87 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Jasaitis was MVP of the game. He recorded 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 37 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group K. Lokomotiv Kuban (5-1) is placed first. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Jasaitis has relatively good stats this year: 12.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 69.5%(41-59), 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 89.5% in the 14 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

Jonas Maciulis

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Jonas Maciulis (199-85, currently plays in Euroleague). Maciulis was the main contributor in Panathinaikos' victory against the seventh-ranked ALBA Berlin (2-10) crushing them 82-58 in the Euroleague last Friday. He was the best player in that game. Maciulis scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Panathinaikos Athens (8-4) is placed fourth in group E. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be critical. This season Maciulis has relatively solid stats: 10.7ppg, 4.1rpg, 2FGP: 55.7%(39-70), 3FGP: 40.4% and FT: 72.7%. He is in the roster of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Jonas Valanciunas (211-92, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Valanciunas could not help the Toronto Raptors (26-42) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Toronto Raptors lost 101-107 on the road to the Charlotte Bobcats. Valanciunas recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks (made all of his six free throws) in 31 minutes. It's Valanciunas' first season with the team. He has reliable stats this year: 7.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 53.4% and FT: 74.8% in the 49 games. Valanciunas is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

Mantas Kalnietis

   #4. Point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Simas Jasaitis and both played together in the last Eurocup game. Kalnietis contributed to Lokomotiv's victory against the closely-ranked Valencia Basket (4-2) 97-87. He recorded 17 points and added 4 assists. Kalnietis is currently third on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.6ppg, 2.6rpg and 6.1apg. Kalnietis is also Lithuanian national team player.

An experienced international power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wake Forest, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to a 2-point BC Donetsk's victory against the closely-ranked Halychyna (22-15) 83-81 in the Ukrainian Superleague last Sunday. He was the top player that evening. Songaila recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 25 minutes. BC Donetsk (21-15) is placed sixth in the Superleague. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Songaila has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.4apg and 1.5spg in the 27 games. Songaila plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

Michailis Anisimovas

   #6. Center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to help Budivelnyk (27-9) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the league leader Budivelnyk was defeated 81-74 in Dnepropetrovsk by the much lower-ranked Dnipro (#11). Anisimovas was the second best scorer with 16 points. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Anisimovas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Budivelnyk's roster. His stats this season are: 10.2ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.2apg. Anisimovas is a former university international player as he played for the Lithuanian team six years ago.

   #7. Former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77, currently plays in Ukraine) is a teammate of previously mentioned Michailis Anisimovas. But that was another game of his team in Ukrainian Superleague which we would like to mention. Salenga contributed to Budivelnyk's victory against one of league's weakest teams DniproAzot (11-27) 85-73. He scored 12 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in a mere 17 minutes. Budivelnyk Kyiv (27-9) is placed first in the Superleague. This year Salenga's overall stats are: 7.9ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.0apg in the 33 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team eight years ago.

Vaidotas Peciukas

   #8. Guard Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Romania) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Pitesti (12-15) crushing them 95-71 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Thursday. Peciukas was the top player that evening. He scored 27 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds. BC Mures Targu-Mures (20-7) is placed second in the Liga Nationala. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Peciukas averaged so far 13.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.2apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team back in 2005.

   #9. International shooting guard Deividas Dulkys (198-88, college: Florida St., currently plays in Baltic League), who plays in Latvia was not able to secure a victory for Barons kvartals (5-1) in their last game. Despite Dulkys' very good performance the second-placed Barons kvartals was edged 76-73 at home by the leading Rudupis in the group E of Baltic League. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Dulkys also added 7 rebounds in 27 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball.They ended the series of eight consecutive victories. This year Dulkys' total stats are: 8.0ppg and 3.5rpg in the two games. He is also in the roster of the Lithuanian national team.

Donatas Motiejunas

   #10. Power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Houston Rockets in a victory against the Utah Jazz (34-34) 100-93 in the NBA last Wednesday. Motiejunas recorded 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 26 minutes. The Houston Rockets have 37-31 record this season. Motiejunas has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 1.7rpg in the 30 games. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #11. International point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius (192-76, college: Maryland, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Besiktas crushing them 86-61 in the Euroleague on Friday night. Jasikevicius scored only 4 points and added 6 assists. Jasikevicius has averaged so far 4.9ppg and 1.9apg. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

   #12. Former U20 international forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Latvia) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Valmiera crushing them 85-65 in the Latvian LBL in Saturday night's game. Zavackas scored 9 points in 28 minutes. Zavackas has averaged so far 9.4ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.1apg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2000.

   #13. Former international guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to Tofas' victory against the closely-ranked Gaziantep 78-69 in the Turkish TBL last Saturday. Lukauskis recorded 13 points. Lukauskis has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.1apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team two years ago.

   #14. International center Antanas Kavaliauskas (207-84, another player represented by Interperformances, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Donatas Zavackas and both played together in the last Latvian LBL game. Kavaliauskas contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Valmiera crushing them 85-65. He scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes. Kavaliauskas' stats this year are: 11.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.2apg in the 12 games. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

   #15. International guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to Cherkasy's victory against the third-ranked Azovmash 88-83 in the Ukrainian Superleague last Friday. Delininkaitis scored 15 points in 33 minutes. Delininkaitis averaged so far 13.5ppg, 3.1rpg and 3.3apg in the 25 games. He is also in the roster of the Lithuanian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Christopher Young (206-F/C-79, college: Michigan, currently plays in Belgium) led Okapi Aalstar to a victory against the league leader Base Oostende (14-7) 82-77 in the Belgian Ethias League in Friday night's game. Young scored 16 points (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Generali Okapi Aalstar (14-8) is placed fourth in the Ethias League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Young belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #4. He has averaged so far 8.5ppg and 6.6rpg. Young is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Lithuania.

   #2. Nik Stauskas (198-G-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the The Pennsylvania State University (2-16) 83-66 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Stauskas recorded 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (made all of his five free throws). The University of Michigan has a solid 12-6 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Stauskas averaged so far 11.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.2apg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian. Despite Stauskas' Lithuanian passport, he previously played for the Canadian U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team.

   #3. Zygimantas Jonusas (200-F-82, currently plays in Italy) contributed to Juvecaserta's victory against the sixth-ranked Montepaschi Siena (14-9) 72-64 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Jonusas scored 9 points in 22 minutes. Co.Fi.Ba JuveCaserta (10-13) is placed tenth in the SerieA. Jonusas has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.2spg in the 22 games he played so far.

   #4. Vytautas Kamarunas (179-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) contributed to a Tsmoki-Minsk II's victory against the third-ranked Borisfen (6-20) 64-57 in the Belarusian Premier League on Friday night. He recorded 9 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Play-Out. Tsmoki-Minsk 2nd team (10-16) is placed first. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. Kamarunas belongs to league's best passers (ranked #5) and also on the list of most steals (third place). This season he has very good stats: 10.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.5apg and 2.7spg.

   #5. Martynas Kuksta (203-C-89, currently plays in Sweden) was the major contributor in Hoganas' victory against the tenth-ranked Sanda Basket 80-67 in the Swedish Basketettan (second division) on Saturday night. Kuksta scored 21 points, had 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 36 minutes. Hoganas Basket (10-11) is placed eighth in South group. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Kuksta has been at the team for four years. Kuksta is currently second on the league's list of best blockers with 1.8bpg. This year his other stats are: 15.2ppg and 7.9rpg in the 21 games.

   #6. Evaldas Juozapaitis (189-G-84, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Martynas Kuksta and both played together in the last Swedish Basketettan game. Juozapaitis led Hoganas to a victory over the tenth-ranked Sanda Basket 80-67. He was the top player that evening. Juozapaitis scored 22 points and had 5 steals in 38 minutes. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Juozapaitis averages: 17.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.7apg and 1.9spg in the 20 games.

   #7. Edgaras Kvedaravicius (191-G-92, currently plays in Denmark) helped Horsens IC win their game against the closely-ranked Naestved 110-93 in the Danish Ligaen on Thursday night. He scored 7 points. Kvedaravicius has averaged so far 3.2ppg and 1.9rpg.

   #8. Olegas Legankovas (197-SF-94, currently plays in Germany) helped Bayer Giants edge the fourth-ranked Oldenburg 86-84 in the German ProB (third division) in Sunday night's game. He recorded 6 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 24 minutes. Legankovas has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg in the 19 games.

   #9.    #10. Daivis Sutkevicius (192-F-84, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Martynas Kuksta. He played also in the last Swedish Basketettan game facing Evaldas Juozapaitis (above) in the other team. Sutkevicius helped Hoganas win their game against the tenth-ranked Sanda Basket 80-67. He scored 8 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in 34 minutes. Sutkevicius has averaged so far 7.4ppg and 4.0rpg in the 15 games.
