Marcus
Kennedy
American Marcus Kennedy (193-F-84, agency: Interperformances) had an amazing evening in the last round for Residence and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 28-year old forward had the game-high 31 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Residence in his team's victory, helping them to beat Etzella (#3, 12-7) 94-89. Residence is placed at 4th position in Luxembourg Diekirch League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Residence will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Kennedy had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He has many years of experience at Residence, through which he has constantly improved. Montevallo University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Kennedy is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.6ppg), rebounds (8th best: 9.9rpg) and averages solid 2.4spg,54.1% FGP and 41.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-F-90) of Soleuvre. Tapscott impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he lead Soleuvre to another comfortable win outscoring Black Star (1-18) 102-77. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Tapscott is a newcomer at Soleuvre and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#6). He also registered 10.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Soleuvre's star - American Mychal Green (193-G-83). Green got into 30-points club by scoring 42 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was another key player of Soleuvre, helping his team with a 102-77 easy win against #-2 ranked Black Star in a game of the week. The chances of Soleuvre ranking at the top of Places 7-10, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Green could help Soleuvre to bring them higher in the standings. Green has a great season in Luxembourg. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.2ppg (best scorer) and assists with 4.2apg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dustin Scott (203-F/C-85) of Residence - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Leon Powell (200-F-88) of Contern - 19 points and 18 rebounds
6. Lee Fisher (195-F-89) of Amicale - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Denell Stephens (190-F/G-86) of T71 - 19 points and 13 rebounds
8. Martin Rajniak (204-PF-78) of Basket Esch - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Stefan Svitek (203-F/C-77) of Basket Esch - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Lawrence Wright (194-F-84) of Basket Esch - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
