Marko Ljujic
Marko Ljujic (205-C-90, agency: BBEH Cokrlija) had a very impressive game in the last round for Centar BP and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 22-year old center had a double-double of 28 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team lost the game against Mornar Bar (#1, 13-2) 83-91. Centar BP is placed at 7th position in Montenegrin 1A. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Centar BP have already lost 11 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Ljujic had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Centar BP, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Marko Ljujic averages this season 22.2ppg and 9.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Masan Vrbica (190-G-94) of Lovcen. Vrbica impressed basketball fans with 25 points and 2 rebounds. Bad luck as Lovcen was edged by the lower-ranked Ibar Rozaje (#9, 4-11) 89-85. Lovcen managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team's 8-7 record is not bad at all. Vrbica is well-known by Lovcen fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Aleksandar Radulovic (207-C-84, agency: BBEH Cokrlija) of Teodo Tivat (#3). Radulovic scored 23 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Teodo Tivat, leading his team to a 76-69 win against slightly lower-ranked Ulcinj (#5, 8-7). Teodo Tivat is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 12-3 record is not that bad... Radulovic has a great season in Montenegro. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.2ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 8.7rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.4bpg and FGP: 59.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Petar Stojanovic (185-PG-90) of Lovcen - 21 points and 5 assists
5. Dusan Milosevic (198-G-90) of Ulcinj - 26 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Milija Mikovic (205-C-94) of Mornar Bar - 22 points and 8 rebounds
7. Aaron Mitchell (187-G-89) of Centar BP - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Ljeko Nicaj (210-C-87) of Lovcen - 23 points
9. Manuel Johnson (201-F-83) of Teodo Tivat - 12 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Marko Mijovic (188-PG-87) of Teodo Tivat - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

EBL Finals 2013: Buducnost got the trophy! - May 17, 2013

Buducnost is the new champion of Erste Basketball League! Actually, its not a big news in Montenegro knowing that the club from Podgorica won all league titles since the independence in 2006 but this time was a bit harder against a solid Sutjeska. Anyway, the third game was not as tied as the games before (67-51) but Dusan Dubljevic 's guys can not regret because they fought bravely against a much more experienced team   [read more]
