Italy claimed a key victory on the final day of the EuroBasket 2013 Second Stage. The Azzurri outlasted Montenegro to improve at 3-2 record in Group E. The victory guaranteed the third position as well as quarterfinal ticket for Italy. Montenegro fell at 1-4 record in the group.
The lead shifted sides throughout the opening quarter. Montenegro capped the opening frame five straight points but still trailed by one after ten minutes 22:23. The Balkan team used a 7:0 run early in the second frame to spur ahead. Italy bounce back but Montenegro crowned the first half with 9 points in a row to gain a 45:34 advantage. Ilaria Zanoni (180-G-86, agency: Players Group) triggered an 11:0 run from the Azzurri as they tied things up at 47-all midway through the third term. Raffaella Masciadri (188-F-80) capped the quarter with five straight points as Italy pulled ahead 56:54. Dotto and Giorgia Sottana (178-G-88, agency: Players Group) gave Italy a 60:54 lead early in the fourth period. Anna De Forge (178-SG-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Nebraska) and Skerovic put Montengro within four but Dotto drained a triple and followed with a free throw to secure a 66:58 lead for the Azzurri. They held on to it and secured a crucial win at the end. Raffaella Masciadri finished with 15 points, while Giorgia Sottana added 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Jelena Dubljevic (191-C-87) answered with 20 points and 14 boards for Montenegro. Anna De Forge had 11 points in the loss.

Buducnost Bemax invested in its future by signing Andjela Bigovic (192-C-00) and Dragana Zivkovic(183-G/F-01) to a long-term contract. Both players arrives from Lovcen. Spanish side Snatt's Femeni Sant Adria continued buliding a roster for its inaugural Liga Femenina 1 season by signing Montengerin Bojana Kovacevic(187-F/C-96). Kovacevic arrives from Liga Catalana side Arenys Basquet Barcelona, where she spent last three seasons.
