Spain reaches the Quarterfinals and remains perfect at the EuroBasket 2013. Spain left no chances for Montenegro in a 66:50 win. The latter fell at 1-4 record and will face Italy tomorrow in the last game of the Second Stage.
Spain opened the game with 18-10 lead and never looked behind after. Montenegro managed to win the second frame 17-16, but trailed 7 points at the halftime. Spain immediately pushed the tempo in the second half and won the third quarter 17-11. Jelena Skerovic (176-G-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) nailed three for 64:49, while Alba Torrens (188-F-89) made two free throws for 66:50 with 2 minutes to go. As it became clear later, those points were the last in the game.
Sancho Lyttle (192-C-83, college: Houston) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Alba Torrens, Lima, Marta Xargay Casademont (181-PG-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) and Elisa Aguilar (172-G-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: G.Washington) added 9 each. Iva Perovanovic (188-C/F-83) replied with 19 points in defeat, whilst Jelena Dubljevic (191-C-87) netted 8. Jelena Skerovic poured in 7 and Ana Baletic (185-G/F-85) scored 6.
