It's A New Season, A New Day

What's up Everyone? A Lot Has Occurred Since My Last Blog. I Was Blessed To Spend Time With Former AAU Teammate And Current Lokomotiv Kuban Star, Richard Hendrix (204-C/F-86, college: Alabama) After They Played KK Buducnost Voli Podgoricat For EuroCup Elite 8. Also, I Got The Chance To Talk With Another Former Husker Teammate That Plays For Lokomotiv Kuban, Aleks Maric (211-C-84, college: Nebraska). Aleks Was Injured And Unable To Make It On The Trip, But His Doing Fine Now. It Was A Great Game! Lokomotiv Kuban Really Had Momentum The Whole Game. Nick Calathes (198-PG-89, college: Florida) Control The Game As A Player, Richard Hendrix Controlled The Boards And Derrick Brown (203-F-87, college: Xavier) Athleticism Took Over The Game. Overall, My Teammates And I Enjoyed The Game And Always Great To Catch Up With Lifelong Friends While Traveling The World.

Next, We Won Both of Our Scrimmages. The First Friendly Was At Home And We Won By 40. We Scored More Than 110 Points. We Picked Up The Defensive Intensity Which Led To Easy Baskets. I Played Well But Always Room For Improvement. The Second Game We Played On The Road Vs KK Lovcen Cetinje. It Was A "Friendly", But Had A Playoff Atmosphere. Both Teams Battled Every Possession For 40 Minutes. In The 4th Quarter, We Were Down By 10 Points With 4 Minutes Left In The Game. We Were Determined As A Team And Found A Way To Win. We Locked Up And Got Defensive Stops, And Made Shots. With Less Than 10 Seconds Left One of Their Players Hits A 3 Pointer To Put Them Up By 1 Point. We Inbound The Ball, Jakov Samardzic (188-G-90) Passed The Ball To Me Around 3/4 Court With 6 Seconds Left. I Made A Move To Create Space For A Open Shot... (5...4...3...2...Buckets) With One Second Left I Hit The Game Winning Shot. This "Friendly" Was Great For Us Because We Were On The Road Vs A Well Coached And Disciplined Good Team And Pulled Out The W. You Can't Teach Effort. Our Desire To Win Was Greater Than Our Opponent. We Conquered Adversity, Stayed United And With Our Backs Against The Wall But We Came Back Fighting With A TKO Hit And Gained The Victory. That's What Winners Do! Although, It Was A Friendly It Revealed Our Persistence, Will To Win, Unity, And Trust. We Trusted In One Another To Get Stops. My Coach & Teammate Put Trust In Me To Make Clutch Plays. Now Thats #Clutch. We Were Missing One of Our Key Players, Zeljko Jovanovic (195-G/F-86, agency: BBEH Cokrlija), His Support Helped Us And Can't Wait For Him To Be Back On The Court. Ivan Zejak (203-SF-87) Hit Some Big 3s For Us And JJakov Samardzic Defensive Presence Changes The Game For Us. His Persistence And Relentlessness Wears Down The Other Team's Guard And He is One of The Best On Ball Defenders. Rickey Young (205-F/C-90, agency: BBEH Cokrlija, college: W.Virginia Tech) Is An Athletic Force For Us. Even Our Younger Guys Are Stepping Up To The Challenge And Getting The Job Done As Pros. Our Team Has Really Come A Long Way In A Short Time Period. We're Happy But Not Satisfied Because Its So Much More Room For Improvement.

TOMORROW, We Open Up At Home For Our First Playout Game. It's A NEW SEASON, A NEW DAY. Everyone Starts Out 0-0 And Only The Strong Will Survive. No One Cares About What We Have Done In The Past Its What You Accomplished Right Now! Words Cannot Express The Feelings I Have For Moments Like This. The Blood, Sweat, And Tears We Shed For This Opportunity And Believe We Will Take Full Advantage Of It.
I Hope To See Everyone Out At The Games And Want To Thank The Loyal Fans That Bleed KK Danilovgrad Blue & White. Our Time Is NOW! I Will Write A Weekly Post On Our Game Results. Stay Tuned To The Strow Show...
