Here is the weekly review of the top performing Montenegrin players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Nikola Pekovic (209-86, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-45) in their last game. Despite Pekovic's very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were edged 120-117 on the road by the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 16 rebounds in 41 minutes on the court. Pekovic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 8.8rpg, 2FGP: 51.4% and FT: 73.1% in the 55 games he played so far. Pekovic is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Eurocup). Dubljevic was the major contributor in a Valencia Basket's victory against the leader Lokomotiv (5-1) 68-63 in the Eurocup on Tuesday night. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds in 28 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group J. Valencia Basket (4-2) is placed second. It's Dubljevic's first season with the team. Dubljevic has relatively good stats this year: 13.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 2FGP: 55.0%, 3FGP: 38.9% and FT: 81.7% in the 16 games. He is in the roster of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Vladimir Golubovic (213-86, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TBL. Golubovic was not able to help Antalya (5-18) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Antalya was edged 87-86 in Akdeniz by the much higher-ranked Mersin (#3). Golubovic recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. This season Golubovic has very high stats. He averages: 26.5ppg, 11.0rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 85.2%(23-27) and FT: 77.8%. Golubovic has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Serbian. He is also a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #4. Swingman Suad Sehovic (196-87, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to secure a victory for Khimik (23-14) in their last game. Despite Sehovic's very good performance Khimik lost 79-91 in Mariupol to the higher-ranked (#3) Azovmash. He was the top scorer with 20 points. Sehovic also added 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. They ended the series of six consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Sehovic has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg in the 37 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Montenegrin and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sehovic is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #5. International shooting guard Bojan Bakic (195-83, currently plays in Serbia) led Metalac to a victory over the third-ranked KK Jagodina (5-21) 87-79 in the Serbian A League on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Bakic scored 27 points (!!!) and added 3 passes. Vujic Metalac Valjevois placed fourth in Superliga group. Bakic is ranked fourth on the list of the top scorers in the league. This season he has very high stats. Bakic averages: 17.2ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.1apg. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #6. Power forward Marko Todorovic (210-92, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 15th-ranked Cajasol (9-17) 91-72 in the Spanish ACB in Saturday night's game. Todorovic scored 9 points in only 4 minutes. Regal FC Barcelona (17-9) is placed third in the ACB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Todorovic's overall stats are: 2.7ppg and 1.8rpg in the 16 games. He is U21 international player who is currently on the Montenegrin National Team roster.

Former U20 international power forward Nemanja Radovic (206-91, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Tamis (11-15) 82-66 in the Serbian A League last Saturday. Radovic scored 19 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 5 assists. KK Vrsac (14-12) is placed first in Places 9-17 group. The Regular Season already ended. Radovic is currently sixth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (second place). This season he has very high stats. Radovic averages: 15.5ppg, 8.7rpg and 1.4apg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team two years ago.

   #8. Swingman Sead Sehovic (196-89, currently plays in Hungary) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Kaposvari (1-3) 103-85 in the Hungarian A Division on Wednesday night. Sehovic recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 29 minutes. Szolnoki Olajbanyasz (3-1) is placed second in Places 1-6 group. Sehovic has reliable stats this year: 15.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 3.0apg in the three games. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

International point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (188-82, another player represented by Beo Basket, college: St.John's, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help Caja Laboral Vitoria to win against the closely-ranked Khimky (7-6) 86-82 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. Cook recorded only 3 points, 11 assists and 3 steals. Caja Laboral Vitoria (7-6) is placed sixth in group F. His team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Top 16. And now that game is very crucial. Cook's total stats this season are: 2.8ppg, 1.2rpg, 3.8apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Cook is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team. Strangely he has never played in Montenegro.

   #10. Guard Milorad Sutulovic (196-90, currently plays in Serbia) was the main contributor in an OKK Beograd's victory against the sixth-ranked Smederevo Vizura (10-16) 96-91 in the Serbian A League last Saturday. Sutulovic was the best player in that game. He scored 26 points (!!!) in 32 minutes. OKK Beograd (12-14) is placed fourth in Places 9-17 group. The Regular Season already ended. Sutulovic's stats this year are: 10.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.1apg in the 25 games. He is a former U20 international player as three years ago he still played for the Montenegrin national team.

   #11. International power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Omar-Sharif Cook. But that was another game of his team in Spanish ACB which we would like to mention. Bjelica contributed to a Caja Laboral's victory against one of league's weakest teams Lagun Aro GBC 88-80. He scored 8 points. Bjelica's total stats this season are: 5.8ppg and 2.8rpg. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #12. International center Blagota Sekulic (209-82, agency: FCM, currently plays in Spain) helped CB Canarias win their game against the eighth-ranked FIATC Joventut 71-68 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Sekulic was the top player that evening. He scored 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. Sekulic averaged so far 10.4ppg and 5.0rpg in the 25 games. He is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team.

   #13. Former U21 international power forward Igor Bijelic (207-88, currently plays in Bosnia) helped Mladost edge the fourth-ranked KK Radnik Bijeljina 65-64 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I last Saturday. Bijelic was the top player that evening. He recorded 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Bijelic is ranked sixth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best blockers (first place). This season he has very high stats. Bijelic averages: 17.4ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2bpg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team six years ago.

   #14. Former U21 international point guard Goran Martinic (183-87, agency: BeoExcell, currently plays in Romania) helped CSM Bucuresti win their game against the league outsider CS Dinamo Bucuresti 92-81 in a derby game in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Friday night's game. Martinic scored 23 points, made 5 passes and 3 steals. Martinic is currently second on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (seventh place). This season he has very high stats. Martinic averages: 20.4ppg, 2.8rpg, 5.2apg and 1.6spg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team back in 2007.

   #15. Former U20 international power forward Nemanja Milosevic (204-87, agency: Interperformances, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL couldn't help Tundja Yambol (11-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Tundja Yambol was defeated 79-74 in Botevgrad by the higher-ranked Balkan (#3). Milosevic recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 17 rebounds. Milosevic is currently ninth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (second place). This season he has very high stats. Milosevic averages: 15.7ppg and 9.5rpg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team five years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Montenegrin passport but never been selected to any of Montenegrin national teams:

   #1. Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain could not help Real Madrid (9-4) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Real Madrid was edged 74-73 at home by the higher-ranked Panathinaikos (#3) in the group E of Euroleague. Mirotic was the second best scorer with 17 points. His team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Top 16. And that game will be critical. Mirotic has relatively good stats this season: 12.0ppg and 5.4rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Spanish. Despite Mirotic's Montenegrin passport, he previously played for the Spanish U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Montenegrin team.

   #2. Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Olimpi (14-3) in their last game. Despite Milosevic's very good performance Olimpi lost 63-70 in a derby game to the leading MIA. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 19 rebounds in 38 minutes. It was Olimpi's first loss after six consecutive victories. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Milosevic is currently third on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (fourth place). He has very reliable stats this year: 14.0ppg, 12.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3bpg in the 13 games he played so far.

   #3. Mensud Julevic (200-PF-85, currently plays in Slovenia) was the major contributor in Elektra's victory against the fourth-ranked Polzela (6-15) 101-92 in the Slovenian Telemach League last Wednesday. Julevic scored 20 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 34 minutes. KK Elektra Sostanj (10-11) is placed third in Places 7-12 group. Julevic averaged so far 13.0ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.1apg in the 20 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Montenegrin and Slovenian. Despite Julevic's Montenegrin nationality, he previously played for the Slovenian U21 national team and probably cannot be called to the Montenegrin team.

   #4. Experienced Branko Cuic (197-G-78, currently plays in Romania) led Targu Mures to a victory against the tenth-ranked CSU Sibiu (14-15) 88-74 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Thursday night. Cuic scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line). BC Mures Targu-Mures (22-7) is placed second in the Liga Nationala. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Cuic belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #5. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.4ppg, 6.4rpg and 5.6apg.

   #5. Boris Lalovic (209-C-81, currently plays in Bosnia) led Zrinjski HT to a victory over the closely-ranked Varda HE (10-12) 78-63 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I in Saturday night's game. Lalovic was the top player that evening. He recorded 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in 23 minutes. HKK Zrinjski HT Mostar (11-11) is placed fifth in the Division I. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Lalovic is currently third on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (third place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Lalovic averages: 20.5ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.6apg in the 22 games.

   #6. Dusan Djordjevic (195-G-83, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Belgium) managed to help Telenet Oostende in a victory against the league outsider VOO Verviers-Pepinster crushing them 87-67 in the Belgian Ethias League on Saturday night. Djordjevic recorded 5 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 19 minutes. Djordjevic belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #4 with 4.2apg. This year his other stats are: 7.5ppg and 3.0rpg in the 21 games. Djordjevic has both Serbian and Montenegrin nationalities.

   #7. Radomir Marojevic (207-C-81, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to a 1-point Vojvodina's victory against the eighth-ranked Mega Vizura 77-76 in the Serbian A League last Saturday. He scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Marojevic's total stats this season are: 9.4ppg and 3.4rpg.

   #8. Dragomir Marojevic (207-C-81, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to Metalac's victory against the third-ranked KK Jagodina 87-79 in the Serbian A League on Saturday night. He scored 8 points in 21 minutes. This year Marojevic's total stats are: 3.8ppg and 2.8rpg in the 24 games.

   #9. Damjan Kandic (208-F-84, currently plays in Romania) is a teammate of previously mentioned Branko Cuic. But that was another game of his team in Romanian Liga Nationala which we would like to mention. Kandic contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider CS Dinamo Bucuresti crushing them 104-72. He recorded only 3 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in 24 minutes. This year Kandic's total stats are: 4.5ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.3spg in the six games.

   #10. Bojan Subotic (203-F-90, currently plays in Adriatic League) was not able to secure a victory for Zvezda in their game against Radnicki KG in the Adriatic League. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Subotic scored only 2 points. His team was defeated 80-75. His total stats this season are: 4.0ppg and 2.3rpg.

KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica (Erste Liga) confirmed in their roster 30-year old Montenegrin international swingman Suad Sehovic (197-100kg-87). He is a dual citizen owning also Bosnia and Herzegovina passport. Sehovic has played there for the last four seasons. He managed to play in three leagues last year. In 8 Eurocup games he had 8.1ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg. Sehovic also played 27 games in ABA League where he recorded 9.7ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.3apg. KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica (Erste Liga) agreed terms with 24-year old Montenegrin international power forward Danilo Nikolic (206-93, agency: BeoBasket). It is actually his comeback to Podgorica as he has played here before. Nikolic played last season at RETAbet Bilbao Basket in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 24 games he had just 2.5ppg and 1.7rpg. He also played 7 games in Eurocup where he recorded only 2.9ppg and 1.3rpg. The previous (15-16) season Nikolic played at Mega Leks in Serbian KLS....   [read more]

Valencia Basket (Liga Endesa) re-signed 26-year old Montenegrin international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-106kg-91, agency: BeoBasket). He has played there for the last four seasons. In 39 Liga Endesa games he averaged 12.5ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.6apg last season. Dubljevic helped them to win the league title. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish Liga Endesa 1st Team and All-Bosmans Team. Dubljevic also played 20 games in Eurocup...   [read more]
