23-year old guard Thomas Ble (185-G-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Centrum and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21. He had a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Froya Basket (#4, 9-10) 83-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Centrum maintains the 2nd position in Norwegian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Centrum will need more victories to improve their 13-6 record. In the team's last game Ble had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Centrum's top player in his first season with the team. Ble has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 18.4ppg), rebounds (8th best: 6.3rpg) and averages solid 52.4% FGP. Worth to mention Ble played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
Second best performed player last round was Ronald Timus (197-G/F-84) of Ammerud Bskt. He is American swingman in his first season at Ammerud Bskt. In the last game Timus recorded impressive double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Ammerud Bskt lost that game 79-102 to the higher-ranked Froya Basket (#4, 9-10). Ammerud Bskt are still at the very bottom. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Ammerud Bskt managed to get this year. Timus is a newcomer at Ammerud Bskt and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 7.2rpg and 3.2apg.
Third place about best performers goes to another Centrum's star - forward Marko Lepovic (194-F-94). Lepovic showcased his all-around game by recording 11 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was another key player of Centrum, helping his team with a 83-72 win against #4 ranked Froya Basket in a game of the week. Centrum needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 6 lost games. Lepovic has a great season in Norway. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.8rpg (7th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Reno Silavs (180-PG-91) of Froya Basket - 29 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Miilah Kombat (198-F-88) of Froya Basket - 23 points and 6 rebounds 6. Peter Bullock (198-F/C-82) of Froya Basket - 17 points and 18 rebounds 7. Reno Silavs (180-PG-91) of Froya Basket - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Ryan Ferranti (195-F/G-86) of Baerum Basket - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Elias Westerlund (197-F-88) of Asker Aliens - 19 points and 8 rebounds 10. Stian Mjos (182-PG-89) of Baerum Basket - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
