Second-best AZS Kutno (20-10) fell to ninth ranked Sokol Lancut (16-14) in overtime by three points 87-90 on Sunday night. It was a good game for Damian Pieloch who led his team to a victory with 30 points. Sokol Lancut moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. AZS Kutno at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 30: Znicz Basket was beaten by Polonia on the road 52-51. SKK Siedlce was destroyed by AZS PP on its own court 68-94. AZS Radex unfortunately lost to Stal Ostrow in Ostrow Wlkp. 75-78. Astoria Bydg. recorded a loss to Spojnia at home 70-71. P.Cukier SIDEn was defeated by Start Lublin on the opponent's court 78-75. MKS DG beat UMKS Kielce in a home game 90-74. MOSiR Krosno lost to Slask Wroclaw on the road 74-75.


Polonia - Znicz Basket 52-51

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Polonia (14-16) edged 10th ranked Znicz Basket (14-16) in Przemysl 52-51 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 19-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Polonia dominated on the defensive end, holding Znicz Basket to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Polonia forced 19 Znicz Basket turnovers. Znicz Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Dariusz Wyka (207-91) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) contributed with 4 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Second-best AZS Kutno (20-10) fell to ninth ranked Sokol Lancut (16-14) in overtime by three points 87-90 on Sunday night. AZS Kutno trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 37-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to tie the game 76-76 at the end of regular time. But then they lost overtime period 11-14. Sokol Lancut had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Sokol Lancut especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a good game for forward Damian Pieloch (195-89) who led his team to a victory with 30 points. Center Maciej Klima (205-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. point guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86) replied with 27 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Dawid Brek (185-89, agency: Promotex) added 20 points and 6 assists in the effort for AZS Kutno. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 14th ranked SKK Siedlce (8-21) was smashed at home by fifteenth ranked AZS PP (9-21) 94-68 on Sunday. The game without a history. AZS PP led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SKK Siedlce to just 6 points in second quarter. AZS PP dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to SKK Siedlce's 40. It was a good game for point guard Pawel Hybiak (173-89) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. There was no surprise when 16th ranked UMKS Kielce (5-26) lost to third ranked MKS DG (20-10) in Dabrowa Gornicza 74-90 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-74. MKS DG outrebounded UMKS Kielce 46-25 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. UMKS Kielce was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Michal Woloszyn (202-84) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Guard Lukasz Grzegorzewski (192-84) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners.
