Korsarz Gdansk - Trefl II Sopot 76-85

Trefl II Sopot made their way into the semifinal stage by beating Korsarz Gdansk on the road. Korsarz Gdansk trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 11-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-85 at the end of the game. Trefl II Sopot shot 64.2 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Trefl II Sopot especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman David Brembly (197-93) who scored 31 points. point guard Pawel Dzierzak (186-93) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Trefl II Sopot players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Marcin Chudy (200-86) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Piotr Konsek (208-89) added 7 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Korsarz Gdansk's coach Andrzej Kwasniewski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

SMS PZKosz held off Basket Pila to reach the semis. Basket Pila was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 37-21 second half run of SMS PZKosz. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Basket Pila to just 7 points in fourth quarter. SMS PZKosz forced 25 Basket Pila turnovers. Strangely Basket Pila outrebounded SMS PZKosz 49-30 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Kacper Borowski (205-94) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Damian Jeszke (202-95) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. SMS PZKosz's coach Arkadiusz Miloszewski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Karol Michalek (207-87, agency: Promotex) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Lukasz Krzeminski (201-80) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Basket Pila.

GTK Gliwice overcame Sudety to stay in the title race. The game was mostly controlled by GTK Gliwice. Sudety was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sudety 36-12 including a 25-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. GTK Gliwice players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for point guard Tomasz Wrobel (180-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Pawel Szymanski (187-92) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Rafal Niesobski (189-82) answered with 24 points and point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Sudety. Sudety's coach Ireneusz Taraszkiewicz tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.

Legia coasted past Haldlopex AZS to seal their semifinal appearance. It looked good early as Handlopex AZS took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Legia had a 16-6 second period charge getting the lead and Handlopex AZS was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 44-66. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Handlopex AZS to just 6 points in second quarter. Legia forced 19 Handlopex AZS turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Tomasz Jaremkiewicz (189-82) who led his team to a victory with 14 points. Center Damian Cechniak (208-93) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Szymon Skop (191-82) answered with 13 points and center Zbigniew Dolinski (209-81) added 4 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Handlopex AZS. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Polpharma Starogard Gdanski (PLK) signed 24-year old Serbian power forward Andrija Bojic (207-95kg-93, agency: BeoBasket). He played last season at JP-Auto Jaszbereny KSE in Hungarian A Division. In 16 games he had very impressive stats: 21.3ppg and 7.9rpg. Great season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention and All-Bosmans Team. GKS Tychy (1Liga) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92). He played most recently at King Szczecin (PLK).
