Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson gets MVP of the Week award for Polish TBL (Second Stage) - Mar 25, 2013

Bertengeh
Gadri-Nicholson
American Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-C-83) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Energa Czarni and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 29-year old center had a double-double of 18 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team lost overtime game against Anwil (#4, 16-9) 69-78. Energa Czarni maintains the 6th position in Polish TBL. Energa Czarni is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 12th lost game this season out of 25 games. It was one of impressive evenings for Gadri-Nicholson as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson averages this season 11.8ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American power forward Ben McCauley (206-F/C-86) of Polpharma. McCauley impressed basketball fans with 26 points and 6 rebounds. Of course Polpharma cruised to a 79-71 relatively comfortable win over AZS Koszalin (11-14). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. McCauley is a newcomer at Polpharma and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#3). He also registered 7.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina Robert Rothbart (217-C-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) of Start Gdynia (#-1). Rothbart scored 29 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Start Gdynia, leading his team to a 71-67 win against #0 ranked Kotwica in a game of the week. Start Gdynia can only dream about fighting for top spots in Places 7-12. They have rather bad season and 7-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Rothbart he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Rothbart has individually a great season in Poland. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 7.6rpg (5th best). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 55.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rasid Mahalbasic (211-C-90) of Asseco Prok. - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Ben McCauley (206-F/C-86) of Polpharma - 20 points and 8 rebounds
6. Kim Adams (201-F/C-82) of Rosa Radom - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Dejan Borovnjak (207-F/C-86) of Stelmet ZG - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Sean Mosley (193-G-89) of Kotwica - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Seid Hajric (203-F-83) of Anwil - 16 points and 11 rebounds
10. Christopher Long (187-G-87) of Siarka Jezioro - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Kenny
Manigault
Manigault number one in Poland for round 28 - 4 days ago
American Swingman Kenny Manigault (196-G/F-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for AZS Koszalin, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 28. The 25-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Siarka (#17, 4-26) with 51-point margin 105-54. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. AZS Koszalin is placed at 14th position in Polish PLK. To...   [read more]

Pawel Kikowski (ex Szczecin) signs at Betaland Cdo - 5 days ago
