Stelmet Zielona Gora (TBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old ex-international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-90kg-84). He played recently at Asseco Prokom Gdynia (TBL), but left the team earlier this month. In 23 TBL games he recorded 11.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 4.6apg and 1.4spg this season. Koszarek also played 10 games in Euroleague where he averaged 11.1ppg, 2.9rpg, 4.0apg and 1.1spg. The last season he played at Trefl Sopot. In 49 games he averaged impressive 15.5ppg, 3.7rpg, 5.4apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Great season indeed as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Polish League Domestic Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and to the All-Star Game. The previous (10-11) season Koszarek played at Juvecaserta (SerieA) in Italian league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 30 SerieA games he averaged 4.7ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3spg. Koszarek also played 2 games in Euroleague where he averaged 11.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.0apg. He also played 14 games in Eurocup where he averaged 5.2ppg, 1.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2spg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. Koszarek's team won Polish Supercup in 2007. He was also a member of Polish international program for some years. Koszarek played for Polish Senior National Team between 2003 and 2012 and previously for U18 National Team between 2001 and 2002. He also represented Poland at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. Koszarek has played previously for four other Poland teams: Anwil, Polonia W-wa, PGE Turow and SMS PZKosz. Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Stelmet ZG players scored in double figures. American guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) answered with 11 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Bartlomiej Woloszyn (196-86) added 16 points in the effort for AZS Koszalin. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. PGE Turow was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian point guard Arvydas Eitutavicius (188-82, college: his fellow American import) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Ivan Zigeranovic (212-84, agency: BeoExcell) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized French forward Aaron Cel (203-87) scored 12 points. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. He returned to the court at the end of February averaging 12.4 points and 5.1 rebounds for 21 games. The center picked up few important awards: Eurobasket.com All-Spanish ACB Newcomer of the Year -12, Eurobasket.com All-Spanish ACB 3rd Team -12 and Eurobasket.com Spanish ACB All-Bosmans Team -12. Lampe had amazing 2010/11 season with Unics Kazan. He was named Eurobasket.com All-EuroCup Player of the Year -11 and also Eurobasket.com All-Russian PBL Player of the Year -11. In VTB United League Lampe was Center of the Year- 11. He helped Unics to win the EuroCup title averaging 15.6 points and 8.1 rebounds. Thomas Kelati spends 2012-2013 season with Valencia Basket (Spain-ACB, starting five). In EuroCup he averaged 9.8ppg, 2.2rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 43.9%, FT: 70.6%, while in Spanish league his stats now 11.4 points per game.
