TBL is at the halfway of the Second Stage and there are still another 5 rounds left. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of PGE Turow (18-9) in Zgorzelec on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Stelmet ZG (18-9) 78-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of PGE Turow. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-6 as both teams had the same 17-9 record before this meeting. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Stelmet ZG made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stelmet ZG used an opportunity after PGE Turow lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Places 1-6 which they share with defeated PGE Turow. Stelmet ZG is looking forward to face Anwil (#5) in Wloclawek in the next round. PGE Turow will play on the road against Trefl Sopot (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Robert Witka accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) came up with 19 points and 4 assists for Anwil in the defeat. Anwil's coach Milija Bogicevic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion moved-up to third place in Places 1-6, which they share with Anwil and Trefl Sopot. Asseco Prok. will play against Energa Czarni (#6) in Slupsk in the next round. Anwil will play at home against the league's second-placed Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Koszalin. Second ranked host AZS Koszalin (13-14) smashed 3rd placed Siarka Jezioro (11-16) 98-72. Lukasz Wisniewski orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS Koszalin maintains second place in Places 7-12 with 13-14 record having five points less than leader PGE Turow. Siarka Jezioro at the other side keeps the third position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Kolobrzeg was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Rosa Radom (9-18) played at the court of 6th ranked Kotwica (6-21). Rosa Radom managed to secure a 9-point victory 81-72 on Saturday. Hubert Radke stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Rosa Radom maintains fourth place in Places 7-12 with 9-18 record. Kotwica lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 21 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by Christopher Long of Siarka Jezioro.

Anwil - Asseco Prok. 72-84

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Anwil (17-10) against fifth ranked Asseco Prok. (17-10) on Saturday night. Host Anwil was defeated by Asseco Prok. in Wloclawek 84-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anwil. It looked good early as Anwil took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Asseco Prok. had a 19-12 second period charge getting the lead and Anwil was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-84. Anwil was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Robert Witka (205-81) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The game between Top Four teams took place in Koszalin. Second ranked host AZS Koszalin (13-14) smashed 3rd placed Siarka Jezioro (11-16) 98-72. It looked good early as Siarka Jezioro took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then AZS Koszalin had a 25-8 second period charge getting the lead and Siarka Jezioro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-98. AZS Koszalin dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Siarka Jezioro's 32. They outrebounded Siarka Jezioro 38-21 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS Koszalin players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. International guard Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton County CC, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) answered with 26 points and American guard Christopher Long (187-87, college: Elon, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Siarka Jezioro. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS Koszalin maintains second place in Places 7-12 with 13-14 record having five points less than leader PGE Turow. Siarka Jezioro at the other side keeps the third position with 16 games lost. Kotwica - Rosa Radom 72-81

The game in Kolobrzeg was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Rosa Radom (9-18) played at the court of 6th ranked Kotwica (6-21). Rosa Radom managed to secure a 9-point victory 81-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 47-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kotwica was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center Hubert Radke (208-80, college: Loyola, IL) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Four Rosa Radom players scored in double figures. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jaroslaw Zyskowski (201-92, agency: Promotex) scored 14 points. Newly promoted Rosa Radom maintains fourth place in Places 7-12 with 9-18 record. Kotwica lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 21 games lost.
