There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in TBL.

The most exciting game of round 9 in the TBL took place in Radom. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Rosa Radom (10-20) to third ranked Siarka Jezioro (13-17) 82-81 in the game for the third place. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-81. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and the former international center Dawid Przybyszewski (215-81, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) with 22 points and 5 assists. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siarka Jezioro maintains third place in Places 7-12 with 13-17 record having just three points less than leader AZS Koszalin. Newly promoted Rosa Radom keeps the fourth position with 20 games lost. Siarka Jezioro are looking forward to face Kotwica (#6) in Kolobrzeg in the next round. Rosa Radom will play at home against the league's leader AZS Koszalin and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Polpharma (15-16) against sixth ranked Kotwica (8-22) on Friday night. Visiting Polpharma was defeated by Kotwica in Kolobrzeg 80-65. American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) nailed 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Corey Jefferson accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian power forward Uros Mirkovic (205-82, agency: BeoExcell) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for Polpharma in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kotwica maintains sixth place in Places 7-12 with 8-22 record. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 16 games lost. Kotwica will play against higher ranked Siarka Jezioro (#3) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play at home against Start Gdynia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Wloclawek. 4th placed host Anwil (18-13) lost to third ranked Trefl Sopot (19-11) 70-64. The best player for the winners was Adam Waczynski who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Marcus Ginyard who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Anwil's coach Milija Bogicevic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Trefl Sopot moved-up to second place in Places 1-6, which they share with Stelmet ZG. Anwil lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Trefl Sopot will meet at home Asseco Prok. (#5) in the next round. Anwil will play against Asseco Prok. in Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a good game for Lukasz Wisniewski who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 assists. AZS Koszalin have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in Places 7-12 with 16-14 record. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 16 games lost. AZS Koszalin's next round opponent will be Rosa Radom (#4) on the road. Polpharma will play against Start Gdynia.
TBL top team - PGE Turow (22-9) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Energa Czarni (16-14) in Slupsk 76-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Energa Czarni. Ivan Opacak stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners. Energa Czarni's coach Andrej Urlep let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for PGE Turow. They maintain first place in Places 1-6 with 22-9 record. Energa Czarni at the other side keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. PGE Turow will face Stelmet ZG (#3) in Zielona Gora in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 9:
In Places 1-6 Stelmet ZG won against Asseco Prok. on the opponent's court 94-83.
In Places 7-12 Kotwica managed to outperform Start Gdynia in a home game 71-65. Start Gdynia recorded a loss to AZS Koszalin on the road 68-50.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points and 13 rebounds by Darrell Harris of AZS Koszalin.

Energa Czarni - PGE Turow 66-76

TBL top team - PGE Turow (22-9) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Energa Czarni (16-14) in Slupsk 76-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Energa Czarni. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-66. Bosnian-Croatian Ivan Opacak (201-80, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and the former international power forward Damian Kulig (206-87) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M, agency: N.E.T.) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and forward Michal Nowakowski (202-88) scored 11 points. Energa Czarni's coach Andrej Urlep let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for PGE Turow. They maintain first place in Places 1-6 with 22-9 record. Energa Czarni at the other side keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. PGE Turow will face Stelmet ZG (#3) in Zielona Gora in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora.

Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Trefl Sopot made 8 blocks. It was a great shooting night for Stelmet ZG especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 39-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Start Gdynia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Rosa Radom - Siarka Jezioro 81-82

The most exciting game of round 9 in the TBL took place in Radom. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Rosa Radom (10-20) to third ranked Siarka Jezioro (13-17) 82-81 in the game for the third place. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-81. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and the former international center Dawid Przybyszewski (215-81, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) with 22 points and 5 assists and the other American import guard J.J. Montgomery (196-82, college: Arkansas St.) scored 20 points. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siarka Jezioro maintains third place in Places 7-12 with 13-17 record having just three points less than leader AZS Koszalin. Newly promoted Rosa Radom keeps the fourth position with 20 games lost. Siarka Jezioro are looking forward to face Kotwica (#6) in Kolobrzeg in the next round. Rosa Radom will play at home against the league's leader AZS Koszalin and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

Kotwica - Polpharma 80-65

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Polpharma (15-16) against sixth ranked Kotwica (8-22) on Friday night. Visiting Polpharma was defeated by Kotwica in Kolobrzeg 80-65. The game was mostly controlled by Kotwica. Polpharma was better in second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kotwica forced 19 Polpharma turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Kotwica brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) nailed 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Corey Jefferson (183-85, college: Texas St.) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds. Jefferson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Uros Mirkovic (205-82, agency: BeoExcell) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and naturalized Belgian center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Polpharma in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kotwica maintains sixth place in Places 7-12 with 8-22 record. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 16 games lost. Kotwica will play against higher ranked Siarka Jezioro (#3) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play at home against Start Gdynia and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Start Gdynia (9-22) was defeated on the road by first ranked AZS Koszalin (16-14) 68-50 on Friday. The game without a history. AZS Koszalin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. International guard Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton County CC, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Pawel Leonczyk (202-86, agency: Promotex) chipped in 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. AZS Koszalin's coach Zoran Sretenovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Sebastian Kowalczyk (190-93) scored 6 points and 5 assists. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for AZS Koszalin. They maintain first place in Places 7-12 with 16-14 record. Start Gdynia lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 22 games lost. AZS Koszalin will face Rosa Radom (#4) on the road in the next round. Start Gdynia will play against the league's second-placed Polpharma in Starogard.
