Benfica advanced into LPB Final after completing the sweep of Ovarense. The game without a history. Benfica led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Benfica outrebounded Ovarense 35-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international Joao Gomes (201-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American guard LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor, agency: Three Eye Sports) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Benfica's coach Carlos Lisboa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) with 16 points and the former international forward Miguel Miranda (205-78, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

Academica - CAB Madeira 76-58

Academica surged ahead in the semifinal series versus CAB Madeira following a home success. It looked good early as CAB Madeira took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Academica had a 18-10 second period charge getting the lead and CAB Madeira was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-76. They outrebounded CAB Madeira 33-22 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American-Spanish forward Arnette Hallman (199-88) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. The former international swingman Fernando Sousa (192-81) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Spanish power forward Jose Manuel Coego (204-78) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jason Smith (183-83, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 15 points respectively for CAB Madeira in the defeat. Four CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. CAB Madeira's coach Joao Freitas rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win.
