Alexandre
Rapier
23-year old forward Al Rapier (200-F-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sampaense and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had the game-high 15 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Sampaense in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Galitos-Tley (#11, 2-12) 76-73. Sampaense is placed at 5th position in Portuguese league. Sampaense is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-6 record. Rapier turned to be Sampaense's top player in his first season with the team. State University of New York,Stony Brook graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rapier is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.5ppg) and averages solid 55.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jeremy Bynum (190-G-88, agency: Interperformances) of Galitos-Tley. He is American guard in his first season at Galitos-Tley. In the last game Bynum recorded impressive 31 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Galitos-Tley was edged by the higher-ranked Sampaense (#5, 7-6) 76-73. Galitos-Tley are still at the very bottom. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Galitos-Tley managed to get this year. Bynum is a newcomer at Galitos-Tley and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Former Jacksonville State University star Bynum is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Arnette Hallman (199-F-88) of Academica (#4). Hallman scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Hallman's great performance Academica lost 79-93 to #1 ranked Benfica. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Academica needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Hallman has a great season in Portugal. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 11.9rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. LaceDarius Dunn (193-G-87) of Benfica - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Steve Baker (187-G-90) of Sampaense - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Stefan Djukic (201-SF-89) of Sampaense - 6 points and 11 rebounds
7. Andre Bessa (179-G-89) of Vitoria SC - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Paulo Cunha (200-F-80) of Vitoria SC - 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Dain Swetalla (206-C-86) of Vitoria SC - 9 points and 9 rebounds
10. Claudio Fonseca (206-C-89) of Benfica - 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
