It looked good early as Craiova took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gaz Metan had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Craiova was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-78. They outrebounded Craiova 43-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Montenegrin-Serbian forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American forward Deven Mitchell (197-84, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Gaz Metan players scored in double figures. Gaz Metan's coach Marcel Tenter allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Mures. CSM Bucuresti managed to win fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Targu Mures made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Targu Mures had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Newly promoted BC Timba Timisoara (Liga Nationala) added to their roster 30-year old Serbian point guard Branko Jereminov (186-87). He played last season at Al Ahli in Qatari D1 league. In 18 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 6.2rpg, 7.9apg (top 2) and 2.3spg. BC Timisoara (Liga Nationala) re-signed 33-year old Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (206-104kg-84). He played there last season. In 32 Liga Nationala games he averaged 12.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.6apg and 1.5spg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to All-Romanian League Honorable Mention. BC Mures Targu-Mures (Liga Nationala) confirmed in their roster 29-year old American swingman Lamarcus Reed (196-83kg-88, college: Texas Arlington). He played there last season. Reed managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 14 Liga Nationala games he had 14.8ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.1apg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the cup final.
