There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Division A. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Division A top team - Oradea (23-5) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Rovinari (13-15) 78-63. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. Rovinari managed to win second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard William Franklin (183-85, college: Bradley) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Center Bogdan Tibirna (210-91) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Louis Darby (196-84, college: Long Beach St.) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Rovinari. Oradea maintains first position with 23-5 record. Rovinari at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Pitesti. Oradea are looking forward to face U-Mobitelco (#7) in Cluj in the next round where they are favorite. Rovinari will play on the road against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Medias was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Ploiesti (21-7) played at the court of 5th ranked Gaz Metan (18-10). Ploiesti defeated Gaz Metan 90-80. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Vladimir Tica (208-81, agency: BeoExcell) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds and Catalin Burlacu who added 23 points during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Kyle Shiloh (191-85, college: Nevada) responded with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ploiesti have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Targu Mures. Gaz Metan at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with U.Mobitel.CN. Ploiesti will play against Timba Timosoara (#13) in Timisoara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gaz Metan will play at home against Craiova (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Timba Timosoara. The winners were led by Robert Sarovic who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by Denham Brown did not help to save the game for Timba Timosoara. Timisoara moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Timba Timosoara keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Timisoara will meet at home Giurgiu (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Timba Timosoara will play against Ploiesti and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Bucuresti. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked CSM Bucuresti (16-12) to eleventh ranked Pitesti (13-15) 101-98 on Saturday evening. Marcel Jones fired 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Pitesti moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Rovinari. CSM Bucuresti at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Pitesti's next round opponent will be Rovinari (#11) at home.
The game between second ranked Targu Mures (21-7) and 16th ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (1-27) in Mures on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Targu Mures outscored guests from Bucuresti 104-72. It was a very good performance for Branko Cuic who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Targu Mures have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-7 record having just two points less than leader Oradea, which they share with Ploiesti. CS Dinamo Bucuresti lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 27 lost games. Targu Mures will face CSU Sibiu (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CS Dinamo Bucuresti's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bucuresti CSM Bucuresti.

Other games in round 28 were not that significant. U.Mobitel.CN was beaten by Craiova on the road 80-72. Giurgiu won against Miercurea Ciuc on its own court 83-70. CSU Sibiu outscored Farul Const. in a road game 89-63.
The most impressive performance of 28th round was 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by Perry Petty of Giurgiu.


Craiova - U.Mobitel.CN 80-72

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Craiova (20-8) beat at home 6th ranked U-Mobitelco (18-10) 80-72 on Sunday. U-Mobitelco was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 29-18 charge of Craiova, which allowed them to win the game. U-Mobitelco was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard LeVar Seals (195-82, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) contributed with 8 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American forward Sean Barnette (198-86, college: Wingate) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian swingman Stephen Ross (201-80, college: Santa Clara, agency: Court Side) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for U-Mobitelco. Five U-Mobitelco players scored in double figures. Craiova maintains fourth position with 20-8 record. Loser U-Mobitelco keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Craiova will face Gaz Metan (#6) in Medias in the next round. U-Mobitelco will play on the road against the league's leader Oradea.

Division A top team - Oradea (23-5) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Rovinari (13-15) 78-63. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. Rovinari managed to win second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard William Franklin (183-85, college: Bradley) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Center Bogdan Tibirna (210-91) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Louis Darby (196-84, college: Long Beach St.) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Czech power forward David Steffel (212-85) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rovinari. Oradea maintains first position with 23-5 record. Rovinari at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Pitesti. Oradea are looking forward to face U-Mobitelco (#7) in Cluj in the next round where they are favorite. Rovinari will play on the road against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Defending champion U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca (Liga Nationala) landed 29-year old Croatian international forward Zeljko Sakic (204-98kg-88, agency: BeoBasket).
