The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CSM Bucuresti won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by CSM Bucuresti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Lithuanian guard Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (183-87, agency: BeoExcell) replied with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian-Jamaican forward Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for CSM Bucuresti. Craiova trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 24 after three quarters before a 31-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 87-90 at the end of the game. Gaz Metan made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game.
