Gillespie
(HALIFAX, NS) The Halifax Rainmen are proud to announce the signing of two more experienced players, as they continue to add new talent to their training camp roster, pending FIBA clearance.

Kaylone Riley (6'8''-F-87, college: Warner Pacific), a 6'8.5 power forward out of Warner Pacific College, whose outstanding athleticism and high motor also allow him to play Center. Riley played last season with CSU Sibiu in Romania's Division A, averaging 14.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals as well as shooting 67% from the field in 27 games. He led the league in total blocks, blocks per game, finished 2nd in FG percentage and 3rd in total rebounding. He was named Romania's Defensive Player of the Year, and was voted to the All-Romania 1st Team, All-Import 1st Team and All-Defensive 1st Team. Riley played two seasons at Warner Pacific College, where he led the Cascade Conference in rebounding and blocks both seasons, and led his team to a 43-18 record. His senior season (2011-12), he averaged 12.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.2 blocks and 1.5 steals per game, and was named the 2012 Cascade Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and to the All-Cascade Conference 1st team.

Head Coach Chris Terrell released the following statement on Riley

"Kaylone is a terrific athlete whose great size, length and quickness makes him an intimidating presence on both ends of the floor. He dominated in Romania last season, plays way above the rim and can run the floor and change directions like a guard. He is really special on defense also, with the ability to switch out on guards, defend the pick and roll, and block or alter a lot of shots at the rim- teams will have to think twice before driving to the basket against the Rainmen this season. Fans can expect to see Kaylone swinging from the Metro Centre rims, he's going to be a fan favourite for us"

Brock Gillespie (6'1''-PG-82, agency: TSS Management, college: Rice), a 61 PG out of Rice University. He has attended multiple NBA camps, and played in the NBA Summer League with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2007-08 and Dallas Mavericks in 2008-09.Was drafted by the Austin Toros in the 3rd round of the 2006 NBA D-League draft and played 41 games with Austin in 2006-07, averaging 7.3 points, 1.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game. Was also drafted by the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the 7th round of the 2009 D-League Draft. Played four seasons (2001-04) at Rice University where he averaged 8.4 points, 1.3 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 120 games. Was the 27th player to score 1000 points with Rice, and is 3rd all time in made 3 point field goals. Gillespie has also played professionally in the NBA D-League, Spain, Ukraine, Switzerland, New Zealand, Romania and Japan.

Rainmen Head Coach Chris Terrell had the following statement on Gillespie

Brock is a savvy floor general that sees the court well and makes the right decisions. He's well coached, understands time and space and has a high basketball IQ, which makes him the perfect pass first point guard. Hes also an efficient shooter and capable scorer when needed. Gillespie is a very experienced pro and will be a leader for the Rainmen this season.
