The game was mostly controlled by Vologda-Chevakata. Nadezhda Orenburg managed to win second period 25-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vologda-Chevakata dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Nadezhda Orenburg's 36. They outrebounded Nadezhda Orenburg 45-31 including 28 on the offensive glass. American forward Glory Johnson (191-90, college: Tennessee) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Uzbekistani center Juliya Kiseleva (200-85) chipped in 14 points and 15 rebounds.
