An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kuban. Second ranked Khimky faced 4th ranked Lokomotiv. Guests from Khimki (13-5) defeated host Lokomotiv (9-9) 82-73. Khimky forced 20 Lokomotiv turnovers. The best player for the winners was Croatian-Bosnian guard Zoran Planinic (198-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International Sergey Monya (202-83) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Valery Likhodey (205-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) produced 19 points for the hosts. Lokomotiv's coach Evgeny Pashutin rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Khimky maintains second position with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader CSKA. Lokomotiv at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost.
The game in Lubertsy was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Krasnie Krilya (7-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (8-9). Triumph Lyubertsy managed to secure a 4-point victory 72-68. Canadian power forward Kyle Landry (207-86, college: N.Arizona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 9 rebounds. Tasmin Mitchell contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Dmitry Kulagin (197-92) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds for Krasnie Krilya. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Triumph Lyubertsy have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Krasnie Krilya lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Triumph Lyubertsy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Krasnie Krilya will play at home against Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) did not help to save the game for Spartak-Prim.. His fellow American import point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) added 20 points and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the hosts.
