The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Volgograd won third quarter 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Volgograd helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Canadian power forward Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Alexei Nesterov (204-88) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. BC Khimki Moscow Region (VTB) re-signed 29-year old international guard Alexey Shved (198-73kg-88, agency: Alti Sport). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 14 Eurocup games he recorded very impressive stats: 22.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 5.2apg and 1.2spg last season. Shved helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. Khimky-Podmoskovye Moscow Region (Superleague 1) re-signed 21-year old center Rodion Ardislamov (215-102kg-96). He played there last season. But in three Superleague 1 games he averaged just 1.3ppg.
