There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Superlaegue. The round 28 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

Leader Universitet-Yugra delivered the twentieth third win on Sunday night. This time they beat 6th ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (15-11) 83-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TEMP-SUMZ Revda. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-72. Universitet-Yugra made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Azerbaijani center Aleksandr Rindin (225-85, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Universitet-Yugra's coach Sergei Olhov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Ivan Pavlov (200-89) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Universitet-Yugra have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-3 record. TEMP-SUMZ Revda at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Universitet-Yugra are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will play against Volgograd (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Sergey Toropov (206-89) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Richard Hendrix contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Avtodor's coach Mikhail Mikhailov felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Evgeny Voytyuk (200-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) replied with 13 points for Severstal. Avtodor have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Avtodor maintains eighth position with 14-12 record. Severstal lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 22 games lost. They share the position with Sojuz Zaretchny. Avtodor will play against higher ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (#4) in Saransk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Severstal will play on the road against Novosybirsk (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Rest of the games of round 28 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Volgograd defeated Spartak V. in a road game 75-68. Planeta-Univ. was beaten by Dynamo MO at home 74-86. Novosybirsk won against AltajBasket on the opponent's court 83-74. Bottom-ranked Sojuz Zaretchny unfortunately lost to Ural Ekaterinb. in a home game 71-88. Ryazan recorded a loss to Ataman on the road 62-66.
The best stats of 28th round was 29 points and 7 rebounds by Nikita Morgunov of Dynamo MO.


Spartak V. - Volgograd 68-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Spartak Vidnoye's (5-21) home loss to twelfth ranked Volgograd (9-16) 68-75. Spartak Vidnoye was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 30-16 third quarter run of Volgograd. Volgograd shot 22 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Spartak Vidnoye only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Spartak Vidnoye 49-29 including a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Spartak Vidnoye was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Fedor Likholitov (210-80, college: VCU, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Ukrainian point guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Volgograd players scored in double figures. Forward Vladislav Trushkin (201-93) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Andrey Loginov (204-93) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Spartak Vidnoye. Spartak Vidnoye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Volgograd moved-up to eleventh place. Newly promoted Spartak Vidnoye keeps the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Volgograd will play against higher ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Spartak Vidnoye's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Moscow to the arena Dynamo Moscow.

Ataman - Ryazan 66-62

Not a big story in a game in Rostov where 10th ranked Ryazan (13-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Ataman (16-11) 66-62. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 17 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-12 Ryazan's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 66-62 at the end of the game. It was a very good performance for Canadian power forward Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Dmitriy Zagnoyko (192-85) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Ataman players scored in double figures. Guard Dramir Zibirov (188-86) replied with 15 points and 5 assists and power forward Aleksey Tsvetkov (207-84) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ryazan. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ataman moved-up to fifth place. Ryazan at the other side keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Ataman will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryazan will play at home against the league's second-placed Ural Ekaterinburg (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
