National League Round 13: No surprise as #1 Clark Eriksson Fury defeats Glasgow Rocks II - Jan 20, 2013

National League top team - Clark Eriksson Fury (13-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Glasgow Rocks II (3-9) in Falkirk 85-49. Undefeated Clark Eriksson Fury have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Glasgow Rocks II lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Clark Eriksson Fury are looking forward to face St.Mirren S. (#5) in St Mirren in the next round. Glasgow Rocks II will play at home against Stirling K. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Stirling was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Glasgow (9-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Stirling K. (3-10). Glasgow defeated Stirling K. 73-59. Glasgow moved-up to third place, which they share with Troon T. Stirling K. lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Glasgow will play against league's second-placed Edunburgh Kings at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stirling K. will play against Glasgow Rocks II (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Edunburgh was also quite interesting. Third ranked Troon T. (9-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Boroughmuir (5-8). Troon T. managed to secure a 7-point victory 67-60 on Saturday. Troon T. maintains third place with 9-4 record having four points less than leader C.Eriksson F., which they share with Glasgow Univ. Newly promoted Boroughmuir keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Troon T. will meet at home Dunfermline Reign (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boroughmuir will play against Glasgow Storm and hope to secure a win.
Second ranked Edunburgh Kings (12-1) crushed at home 10th ranked Glasgow Storm (2-11) by 59 points 90-31, which is the biggest margin this round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Glasgow Storm. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Edunburgh Kings. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-1 record behind leader C.Eriksson F. Glasgow Storm at the other side stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Edunburgh Kings' next round opponent will be Glasgow (#4) on the road. Glasgow Storm will play against Boroughmuir (#6) in Edunburgh.

In the last game of round 13 St.Mirren S. destroyed Dunfermline R. on the opponent's court 105-69.


Stirling K. - Glasgow Univ. 59-73

The game in Stirling was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Glasgow (9-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Stirling K. (3-10). Glasgow defeated Stirling K. 73-59. Glasgow moved-up to third place, which they share with Troon T. Stirling K. lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Glasgow will play against league's second-placed Edunburgh Kings at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stirling K. will play against Glasgow Rocks II (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Dunfermline R. - St.Mirren S. 69-105

Very expected game when 9th ranked Dunfermline Reign (2-11) was crushed at home by fifth ranked St.Mirren S. (6-6) 105-69. St.Mirren S. maintains fifth place with 6-6 record. Dunfermline Reign lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. St.Mirren S.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Clark Eriksson Fury in Falkirk and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dunfermline Reign will play on the road against Troon T. (#3).

We headed to the Mariner Centre for one last time on Friday night for a Playoff Semi-Final between Sony Centre Fury and Glasgow Storm.
