One Health Sharks Sheffield 62 (18,28,37) (Holmes 20, Demetrius Jemison (203-F-87, agency: Interperformances, college: Manhattan) 12, Tuck 11)
Glasgow Rocks 52 (11,28,40) (Robinson 14, Fantazia/Harrison 8)

An impressive final quarter from the One Health Sharks Sheffield saw them pick up an impressive 62-52 victory over the Glasgow Rocks in a low scoring affair at the EIS, Sheffield on Tuesday evening.

The home side exploded out of the blocks and opened the game up with an 11-2 burst to take an early lead with four minutes left in the opening quarter. The Rocks managed to stem the flow of points as the period drew to a close and closed the gap slightly by the end as they trailed by seven points at 18-11 at the end of the stanza.

In the second period, the Rocks enjoyed a reversal of fortunes as they opened with a 12-2 tear of their own and took the lead at 20-23 midway through the quarter. The Sharks got themselves back in front shortly afterwards as a Colin Sing (195-SG-89) basket gave them a 28-26 lead with just under two minutes remaining in the half, but a pair of EJ Harrison (186-PG-76, college: Connecticut) free-throws tied the game up and sent the teams into the locker rooms with them locked together at 28-28 at the half.

In the second half, both sides traded baskets throughout much of the third quarter and the lead changed hands on a number of occasions, but it was the visitors who held the advantage as a Brice Fantazia basket with seven seconds remaining in the third period saw the Rocks take a 37-40 lead into the final stanza.

In the final period, a Harrison basket midway through the quarter sent the Rocks out to a 42-48 lead with 5:39 left in the contest. This only served to spur the Sharks on as a BJ Holmes three-pointer sparked the Sharks into life as they rattled off a 12-1 burst to take the lead at 54-49 with 1:44 remaining.

A Fantazia three-pointer immediately bought the visitors back to within two points at 54-52, but that was as close as they would get down the stretch as the Sharks bagged the final eight points of the contest to pick up the all-important victory.

A game-high 20 points from Holmes was the leading mark for the Sharks, while Donald Robinson led the Rocks with 14 points personal.

Fury extinguish Blaze to complete SBC Triple Crown - 1 month ago
The final game and main event of Day 2 of our last event of the season, the SBC Playoff Finals, was our Senior Men's Playoff Final between the League and Cup Champions Sony Centre Fury, and last years League and Playoff Champions Boroughmuir Blaze. It was Blaze who drew first blood in this one, taking a quick 5-0 lead in the game. It wasn't to last for long though as Fury quickly reversed the lead and before we knew it these teams began to trade basket for basket running up the score in a...   [read more]

Fury storm out of Mariner and on to Playoff Finals - 2 months ago
We headed to the Mariner Centre for one last time on Friday night for a Playoff Semi-Final between Sony Centre Fury and Glasgow Storm. With a Finals spot up for grabs, there was plenty at stake for both teams. Storm showed some nerves in the first quarter, getting off to a really slow start. Falkirk were able to capitalise on this with Keith Bunyan (191-G-77) lighting up behind the arc. Fury worked the ball well as a team and made Glasgow Storm work for extended periods on the defensive e...   [read more]
