Ines Ajanovic's double-double lands her Player of the Week award among Serbians playing currently abroad - Mar 18, 2013

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced former international forward Ines Ajanovic (195-80, currently plays in Latvia). She led Cesis to a victory over the eighth-ranked TTT Juniores (8-14) crushing them 120-39 in the Latvian LSBL in Saturday night's game. Ajanovic was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 13 rebounds. Ajanovic also added 3 assists and 4 steals in 26 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Cesis this season. Her team is placed first in the LSBL. So far her team won all twenty games in the Regular Season. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Former Radivoj Korac Beograd starter played for the Serbian senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international forward Jovana Rad (187-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in France). Rad was the main contributor in Tarbes' victory against the 11th-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (9-14) crushing them 80-44 in the French LFB last Friday. She was the best player in that game. Rad recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. She also added 3 assists. Tarbes Gespe Bigorre (13-10) is placed fourth in the LFB. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Rad has relatively good stats this season: 12.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.2apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 50.4%, 3FGP: 33.0% and FT: 76.0%. She played for the Serbian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Serbian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Ivanka Matic (193-79, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Romania). Matic contributed to an easy victory against the 12th-ranked Rapid (6-20) crushing them 108-56 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Friday night. She had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Matic also added and 3 steals in only a mere 13 minutes. CSM Targoviste (23-1) is placed second in the Liga Nationala. It was her team's 17th consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Matic's first season with the team. This year she has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 6.6rpg, 2FGP: 62.2%(74-119) and FT: 73.3% in the 17 games she played so far. Matic is also a member of the Serbian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Adrijana Knezevic (185-87, currently plays in France) contributed to Toulouse's victory against the closely-ranked Nantes Reze (11-12) 82-73 in the French LFB last Friday. She scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 26 minutes. Toulouse Metropole Basket (10-13) is placed ninth in the LFB. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Knezevic has reliable stats this year: 10.2ppg, 4.7rpg and 2.0apg in the 22 games. She used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2011.

Former international guard Sanja Orozovic (183-90, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Jezica (7-10) crushing them 78-52 in the Slovenian SKL on Wednesday night. Orozovic was the top player that evening. She scored 14 points, had 4 boards, passed 3 assists and added 4 steals. ZKK Athlete Celje (19-1) is placed first in Places 1-6 group. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Orozovic is currently sixth on the list of top scorers. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Orozovic averages: 15.8ppg, 7.4rpg, 2.4apg and 2.2spg. She used to play for the Serbian national team two years ago.

Guard Tamara Bajic (172-87, currently plays in Romania) contributed to Sp.Studentesc's victory against the 12th-ranked Rapid (6-20) 67-61 in a derby game in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Wednesday night's game. Bajic was the top player that evening. She scored 22 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 40 minutes. CSM Sportul Studentesc Bucuresti (12-13) is placed eighth in the Liga Nationala. It was Sp.Studentesc's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Bajic's stats this year are: 13.9ppg, 4.2rpg and 4.3apg in the 11 games. She is a former university international player as she played for the Serbian team four years ago.

International guard Milica Ivanovic (175-88, agency: Interperformances, college: Catawba, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala could not help Sf.Gheorghe (19-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Ivanovic's good performance Sf.Gheorghe was defeated 84-79 on the road by the lower-ranked Sp.Studentesc (#8). She recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Ivanovic is currently ninth on the league's list of top scorers. This season she has very high stats. Ivanovic averages: 15.2ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg. She is also Serbian national team player.

Miljkovic contributed to an easy victory against the 12th-ranked Rapid (6-20) crushing them 108-56. She recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in 22 minutes. This year Miljkovic's overall stats are: 5.9ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.8apg and 1.1spg in the 19 games. She used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2011.

   #10. Guard Nikolina Nikolic (178-91, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL was not able to secure a victory for Haskovo 2012 (9-11) in their last game. Despite her good performance Haskovo 2012 lost 66-73 in Stara Zagora to the one of league's weakest teams (#6) Beroe. Nikolic scored 14 points in 28 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. This year Nikolic's total stats are: 4.0ppg and 2.7rpg in the six games. She is U20 international player who is currently on the Serbian National Team roster.

   #11. Former international guard Jovana Vukoje (174-86, currently plays in Romania) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Alba Iulia in their game against Sf.Gheorghe in the Romanian Liga Nationala. Despite her good performance in Wednesday night's game Vukoje scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Vukoje has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.8apg and 1.7spg. She used to play for the Serbian national team three years ago.

   #12. Former international guard Marija Eric (164-83, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 1-point Priolo's victory against one of league's weakest teams Orvieto 61-60 in the Italian A1 on Sunday night. Eric scored 8 points. Eric's stats this season are: 10.6ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.7apg and 2.2spg. She used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2010.

   #13. Former University international center Dara Kovacevic (197-83, currently plays in Romania) contributed to a Satu Mare's victory against the closely-ranked Timisoara 72-60 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Wednesday night's game. Kovacevic scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 20 minutes. Kovacevic has averaged so far 7.3ppg and 4.2rpg in the 24 games. She used to play for the Serbian university national team six years ago.

   #14. Former international forward Monika Veselovski (183-77, agency: IPSA, currently plays in Italy) is a teammate of previously mentioned Marija Eric and both played together in the last Italian A1 game. Veselovski helped Priolo edge one of league's weakest teams Orvieto 61-60. She scored 7 points. Veselovski averaged so far 11.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.5spg. She used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2007.

   #15. Former international guard Biljana Pesovic (180-83, currently plays in Romania) faced previously mentioned Dara Kovacevic in the Romanian Liga Nationala last game. Pesovic couldn't help Timisoara in their game against Satu Mare. She scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 26 minutes. Her team lost 60-72. Pesovic is ranked eighth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 15.3ppg. This year her other stats are: 4.6rpg, 2.8apg and 2.3spg in the 25 games. Pesovic used to play for the Serbian national team two years ago.

Experienced Suzana Milovanovic (185-F-79, currently plays in Romania) led ICIM Arad to a victory over the closely-ranked Craiova (19-8) crushing them 87-50 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Monday night's game. She was the top player that evening. Milovanovic scored 19 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC ICIM Arad (24-2) is placed first in the Liga Nationala. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This season Milovanovic averages: 9.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.7apg and 1.2spg.

   #2. Minja Terzic (188-F/C-79, currently plays in Germany) was the main contributor in a Herner TC's surprising victory against the second-ranked SV Halle Lions (13-8) 73-69 in the German DBBL last Saturday. Terzic was the top player that evening. She scored 21 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Herner TC (7-14) is placed second from the bottom (#11) in the DBBL. Terzic's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Terzic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's her fourth year in Herner TC's roster. Terzic's stats this season are: 10.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg.

   #3. Marija Micovic (187-F-82, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Viterbo (6-17) crushing them 84-46 in the Italian A2 (12th division) on Sunday night. She scored 15 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 30 minutes. Gruppo L.P.A. Ariano Irpino (10-13) is placed ninth in South group. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Micovic averaged so far 13.2ppg, 7.6rpg and 1.2spg in the 23 games she played so far. She has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Italian.

   #4. Jovana Milovanovic (171-G-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked DSK Karlin (6-19) crushing them 83-56 in the Czech Republic ZBL on Saturday night. Milovanovic recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group A3. BK Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (10-15) is placed second. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. Milovanovic is ranked third on the list of the best passers in the league. Her total stats this season are: 8.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg.

   #5. Ivana Matovic (197-C-83, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to Fenerbahce's victory against the closely-ranked Galatasaray (19-5) 75-71 in a derby game in the Turkish TKBL last Saturday. Matovic scored 6 points and added 3 passes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu (21-2) is placed first in the TKBL. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Matovic's stats this season are: 13.7ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.4apg.

   #6. Milica Micovic (182-G-84, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the 12th-ranked College Italia crushing them 81-40 in the Italian A2 (12th division) last Sunday. Micovic scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. Micovic averaged so far 11.2ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.4spg in the 23 games. She is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Italian.

   #7. Vladinka Erak (190-C-84, currently plays in Romania) contributed to Sp.Studentesc's victory against the 12th-ranked Rapid 67-61 in a derby game in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Wednesday. She scored 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 38 minutes. Erak averaged so far 10.2ppg, 7.6rpg and 1.1spg in the 25 games.

   #8. Sonja Maric (185-F-85, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala could not help Timisoara (18-9) in their last game. Despite her good performance Timisoara was crushed 87-42 on the road by the leading ICIM Arad. Maric was the second best scorer with 10 points in 19 minutes. She has averaged so far 9.5ppg and 3.6rpg in the 11 games.

   #9. Kristina Semeredi (185-G-77, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Pelister crushing them 105-44 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga last Saturday. Semeredi scored 14 points and added 4 assists. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Semeredi averages: 16.5ppg, 4.5rpg and 3.5apg.

   #10. Julijana Kancevic (168-G-86, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Trier crushing them 95-53 in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division) in Saturday night's game. She scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Kancevic has averaged so far 5.0ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.4apg.

She played last season at CS Universitatea Cluj Napoca in Romanian Liga Nationala. In 21 games she had 11.6ppg, 4.9rpg, 3.5apg and 1.0spg. In 10 Eurocup games she averaged 12.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.0spg last season.
