   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Miljana Bojovic (181-87, currently plays in Euroleague). Bojovic led her Hungarian team Good Angels to a victory against the fourth-ranked Perfumerias Avenida (5-7) 82-68 in the Euroleague last Tuesday. She recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Good Angels Kosice (9-3) is placed first in group B. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Bojovic belongs to league's best passers (ranked #3) and also on the list of most steals (fourth place). This season she averages: 7.9ppg, 3.0rpg, 5.6apg, 2.5spg, 2FGP: 54.1%, 3FGP: 17.1% and FT: 70.3%. Bojovic played for the Serbian senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international power forward Ivanka Matic (193-79, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Romania. Matic could not help CSM Targoviste (4-8) in their last game on Friday. Despite her very good performance the fifth-placed CSM Targoviste was defeated 68-63 on the road by the leading Spartak Vidnoye in the group B of Euroleague. Matic was the top scorer with 18 points. She also added 6 rebounds. It's Matic's first season with the team. Matic's overall stats this year are: 6.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 2FGP: 49.4% and FT: 54.5%. She is in the roster of the Serbian senior national team.

   #3. The Serbian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Maja Miljkovic (175-88, also represented by LBM Management, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ivanka Matic. But that was another game of her team in Euroleague which we would like to mention. Miljkovic, who plays in Romania. She was not able to help CSM Targoviste (4-8) in their last game. Despite Miljkovic's very good performance CSM Targoviste (#5) lost 84-91 in Vidnoye to the leading Spartak in the group B of Euroleague. She recorded 16 points and added 3 assists in a mere 19 minutes. This year Miljkovic's overall stats are: 5.5ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 36.1%, 3FGP: 35.3% and FT: 73.0% in the 13 games she played so far. She played for the Serbian national team two years ago.

Sanja Orozovic

   #4. Guard Sanja Orozovic (183-90, currently plays in Adriatic League) contributed to a Athlete Celje's victory against the closely-ranked Sloboda (6-13) 71-64 in the Adriatic League on Saturday night. Orozovic recorded 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. ZKK Athlete Celje (6-13) is placed eighth in group T. The Regular Season already ended in the Adriatic League. Orozovic is ranked first on the list of the top scorers in the league. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Orozovic averages: 20.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg. She used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2011.

Former University international center Dara Kovacevic (197-83, currently plays in Romania) helped Satu Mare win their game against the eighth-ranked Brasov (10-14) crushing them 107-72 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Thursday night's game. Kovacevic scored 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 21 minutes. CSM Satu Mare (18-4) is placed third in the Liga Nationala. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Kovacevic's total stats are: 7.0ppg and 3.9rpg in the 22 games. She used to play for the Serbian university national team six years ago.

   #6. Forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Ivanka Matic in the Euroleague last game. Petrovic managed to help Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region to win against the fifth-ranked CSM Targoviste (4-8) 68-63. She scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Petrovic has averaged so far 5.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg. She is a former international player as she played for the Serbian senior team two years ago.

Former international forward Monika Veselovski (183-77, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in Priolo's victory against one of league's weakest teams Cagliari CUS (3-13) crushing them 75-55 in the Italian A1 on Sunday night. Veselovski recorded 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. Trogylos Priolo (6-9) is placed sixth in the A1. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Veselovski has relatively good stats this year: 11.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg in the 13 games. She used to play for the Serbian national team six years ago.

   #8. Guard Maja Scekic (169-87, currently plays in Hungary), who plays in the Hungarian A Division was not able to secure a victory for Atomeromu (16-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Scekic's very good performance Atomeromu (#2) was badly defeated 88-70 in Cegled by the lower-ranked i EKK (#4) in the Places 9-14 group. She was the second best scorer with 15 points. Scekic also added 3 assists. Scekic belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #9. She has very reliable stats this season: 13.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.9apg and 1.5spg. Scekic used to play for the Serbian university national team back in 2009.

Former U20 international power forward Nina Djokovic (184-87, college: Bethel, TN, currently plays in Romania) faced previously mentioned Dara Kovacevic in the Romanian Liga Nationala last game. Djokovic, who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala couldn't help Brasov (0-2) in their last game on Thursday. Despite her very good performance Brasov was crushed 107-72 in Satu Mare by the higher-ranked Satu Mare (#3). Djokovic was the second best scorer with 21 points. She also added 5 rebounds. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This season Djokovic has relatively solid stats: 12.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg. She used to play for the Serbian U20 national team six years ago.

Center Tijana Ajdukovic (195-91, agency: Regeneracom Sports, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Parma (11-4) in their game against Lucca (12-3) in the Italian A1. Ajdukovic scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 22 minutes. Parma was edged 51-48 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Lucca. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Ajdukovic has averaged so far 5.9ppg and 4.8rpg in the 16 games. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Serbian National Team roster.

   #11. Former international guard Latinka Dusanic (178-90, currently plays in Hungary) helped PEAC-PECS win their game against the sixth-ranked Samorin 76-69 in the Hungarian A Division on Sunday night. She recorded 9 points in only 14 minutes. Dusanic has averaged so far 6.7ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.2apg in the 20 games. She used to play for the Serbian national team two years ago.

   #12. International guard Milica Ivanovic (175-88, agency: Interperformances, college: Catawba, currently plays in Romania) helped Sf.Gheorghe win their game against the closely-ranked Alexandria crushing them 76-45 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Saturday. Ivanovic scored 10 points in 30 minutes. Ivanovic is currently ninth on the list of top scorers with 15.0ppg. This year she also averages: 2.6rpg, 2.1apg and 1.7spg in the 21 games. Ivanovic is also in the roster of the Serbian national team.

   #13. Former international guard Marija Eric (164-83, currently plays in Italy) is a teammate of previously mentioned Monika Veselovski and both played together in the last Italian A1 game. Eric helped Priolo win their game against one of league's weakest teams Cagliari CUS crushing them 75-55. She recorded 10 points. Eric belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #7. This season she has very good stats: 10.6ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.8apg and 2.1spg. Eric used to play for the Serbian national team three years ago.

   #14. Former international center Zorica Mitov (189-87, currently plays in Romania) helped Craiova win their game against one of league's weakest teams Oradea crushing them 97-54 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Sunday night's game. She scored 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Mitov has reliable stats this season: 12.3ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg. She used to play for the Serbian national team back in 2008.

   #15. Former international guard Jovana Vukoje (174-86, currently plays in Romania) helped Alba Iulia win their game against the closely-ranked Timisoara crushing them 82-61 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Saturday. Vukoje scored only 4 points and added 6 passes in 35 minutes. She has averaged so far 8.3ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.9apg and 1.9spg in the 21 games. Vukoje used to play for the Serbian national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Serbian passport but never been selected to any of Serbian national teams:

   #1. Ivana Matovic (197-C-83, currently plays in Euroleague) led her Turkish team Fenerbahce to a victory over the fifth-ranked UNI Gyor (5-7) crushing them 93-61 in the Euroleague in Tuesday night's game. She was MVP of the game. Matovic recorded 28 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 26 minutes. Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu (9-3) is placed second in group B. Matovic has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 16.0ppg, 6.1rpg and 3.4apg in the 14 games she played so far.

   #2. Tijana Krivacevic (194-F-90, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to a Good Angels' victory against the fourth-ranked Perfumerias Avenida (5-7) 82-68 in the Euroleague on Tuesday night. She recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. Good Angels Kosice (9-3) is placed first in group B. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. This year Krivacevic's overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg in the 14 games. She has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Hungarian.

   #3. Experienced Suzana Milovanovic (185-F-79, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Romania) helped ICIM Arad win their game against the closely-ranked Satu Mare (18-4) 82-63 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Monday. She scored 11 points and blocked 2 blocks in only a mere 11 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC ICIM Arad (19-2) is placed second in the Liga Nationala. Milovanovic has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg in the 20 games.

   #4. Milena Vukicevic (188-F/C-80, currently plays in Greece) helped Athinaikos win their game against the ninth-ranked Terpsithea (6-12) crushing them 76-49 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Vukicevic scored 9 points. Sony Athinaikos (15-3) is placed third in the A1. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. Vukicevic has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 2.9rpg.

   #5. Jovana Milovanovic (171-G-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in Czech Republic) was the main contributor in a Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary's victory against the fourth-ranked BK Pliska Studanka (2-21) crushing them 72-48 in the Czech Republic ZBL in Wednesday night's game. Milovanovic was MVP of the game. She recorded 13 points and added 5 assists. BK Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (9-14) is placed first in A3 group. Milovanovic is currently third on the list of best passers. She has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 2.5rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg.

   #6. Bojana Vulic (191-PF-84, currently plays in Turkey) helped Canik Bld win their game against the league outsider Edremit crushing them 76-49 in the Turkish TKBL on Sunday night. She scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Vulic has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.5spg.

   #7. Sonja Maric (185-F-85, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala could not help Timisoara (11-10) in their last game. Despite her good performance Timisoara was crushed 82-61 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) Alba Iulia. Maric was the top scorer with 11 points. She also added 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. Maric has averaged so far 9.3ppg and 4.0rpg in the seven games.

   #8. Andrijana Vasovic (186-F/C-83, currently plays in Belgium) managed to help Belfius Namur Capitale in a victory against the closely-ranked Sint Kateline Waver 79-62 in the Belgian Division I on Sunday night. She recorded 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 15 minutes. Vasovic has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 2.2rpg in the 13 games.

   #9. Milica Micovic (182-G-84, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) helped Ragusa win their game against the 19th-ranked Meccanica NB crushing them 74-50 in the Italian A2 (12th division) on Saturday night. She recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. Micovic averaged so far 11.0ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.2spg in the 21 games. She is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Italian.

   #10. Ana Vuksic (188-C-81, currently plays in Romania) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sonja Maric and both played together in the last Romanian Liga Nationala game. Vuksic was not able to help Timisoara in their game against Alba Iulia. She scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Her team was crushed by 21 points 82-61. Vuksic has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 2.9rpg.

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in 1 ZLS. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Spartak (1-1) in Subotica on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by Vrbas Medela (1-1) 79-65. The game was mostly controlled by Vrbas Medela. Spartak managed to win fourth quarter 22-20. Here is the weekly review of the top performing Serbian players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international forward Danielle Page (188-86). She could not help Abdullah Gul (0-1) in their last game. Despite Page's very good performance the third-placed Abdullah Gul (0-1) was edged 76-74 on the road by the leading Istanbul Uni in the group E of Eurocup.    [read more]

21-year old power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-F/C-96) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sabac and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. She had a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Beocin (#7, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 74-61. Sabac is placed at 4th position in Serbian 1 ZLS.
